The Ivy League - Attack of the Internet Morons

The fWo is in a slump. The storylines are stale, the website needs a complete overhaul, and the talent... just sucks. Kelly can't draw flies as champ, Tempest is a woman trying to be a man, and Flair's got bad knees, had no business insisting that he go over Donaven Winters at Cyberslam.
Sound familiar? How about this one?
I'll miss the fWo like nothing else. It had more history and tradition than any other wrestling promotion before it. It was what every promotion aspired to be, it was where every wrestler, manager, referee, and everyone in between wanted to ply their trade. Rest in peace, Fans Wrestling Organization, I lift a glass to you.
Bite me, webgeeks.
I know, better than most, that you can't please all the people all the time. However... the rules seem to get tossed aside when it comes to the wrestling business, or worse - the most vile creature known to humanity.
The Internet Wrestling Community.
It seems to me, the only time any of the web geeks allow themselves to be positive about anything is when a wrestler is unable to continue wrestling, be it through death, injury, or other happenstance. Then, it's in bad taste to badmouth the individual.
Unless you're trying to be a webgeek heel. Then you go off on the person.
Or wrestling promotion.
The fWo was on top of the wrestling world, so it became the 'in' thing to try and take it down a notch. The only way for Primetime Wrestling, the only way for Jolt, the only way for the Asylum to be anywhere near the fWo was for the fWo to be taken down a notch.
Because the others never had a prayer of climbing the pit of mediocrity.
Don't believe me? Take a look at the other great wrestling promotion of the past fifteen years. It's the only wrestling promotion to have showcased every Unified Champion under its banner at one time or another, it's the only wrestling promotion to have a main event wrestler who has pulled off sixty- minute or more masterpieces of mat wrestling, TEN YEARS APART.
Still don't believe me? Then I defy you to find anywhere that anyone from the fWo has initiated any kind of verbal barrage with any other wrestling promotion when it wasn't part of an on- card angle.
You won't find any. Just like you'll never find a single place in the CSWA's history where any of the wrestlers, personnel, or Merritt himself, took the first shot. The AAWC, the IWF, the joke- of- a- jWo, the PWA superleague, and most recently, the GXW. It's not worth our time - and we have nothing to gain from it.
Am I biased, being an employee of both CSWA and fWo? Maybe, maybe not.
But the difference is, I've always been happy where I am. I've never felt the need to bring anyone else to the level I was at.
I figured... hard work is all it would take. Not mudslinging.
Because whatever your stance, positive or negative... had better be your own, or you're just as bad as the Internet Wrestling Personality sheep that populate the negative opinions about wrestling because everyone is too fucking afraid to be positive about this sport.
Baaaa.
This is Ivy too.
