Fed Review: GWA

This is the first episode of the federation review on FWrestling: this is the review that will set the precedent for all reviews after it. I plan on doing this once a week or maybe twice, but at first once on
Saturday.

First, it will probably be good to introduce myself, Strike Radical, I am a three time Georgia Heavyweight Champion, a two time Tag-Team Champion, a one time Television Champion at Global Championship Wrestling. A
Television Champion at the defunct Wrestling War League, and a former Intercontinental and European Champion at World Championship Wrestling Federation.

My job now is as a federation reviewer, and I will do my best to tell you, as a wrestler and for a wrestler, what is good and what is not. I don't plan on giving people A+'s on report cards, I don't plan on giving people F's on
report cards. I will call them as I see them, and I will try to give you the best opportunities possible for possible wrestlers of the federations that I
am reviewing.

Today I am reviewing the Global Wrestling Alliance.

Name: Global Wrestling Alliance
Address: http://www.andigorman.com

Global Wrestling Alliance is a federation that was started by Douglas Wilder and given to Andi Gorman for expansion. Andi has done a good job so far in expanding the federation into a roleplay and angle based federation.
He has acquired several wrestlers from Minor Leagues not getting the opportunity to wrestle in the majors because of too many people. He used the Federation of Internet Wrestling as a launchpad for his success, by taking
the soon-to-be graduates who were not allowed into GCW at that time and bring them all into GWA. He then acquired a couple of mid card stars that needed an opening to grow on from other federations including "Solid Gold"
Scotty Riktor, and The Pin Cushion. He then brought in the Heavyweight Star, Discord.

This federation has several individual features that I like about it, and the chemistry of their features works well for them. They have a rumor mill, which is in constant use, and they even put the rumors on the main page. Their ownership politics is brilliant, they have a "Board of Directors" run the federation, although Andi Gorman is the real owner, but in storyline terms the staff each hold a position on the Board. Their work on individualizing Rob James, Sebastian Cole, Andi Gorman, and Douglas Wilder in such short time is something that I enjoy about this federation.

The one thing I don't like about this federation is some of the roleplaying, which is a main point that needs to be top-notch for a good federation. As I said before, Global Wrestling Alliance is made up of mostly minor leaguers and
midcarders from federations across the world. The only major plus that they have in the roleplay department is Discord, who has recently got a virus on his computer and has not been able to compete lately, which is a dragback for who seemed to be the "sureshot" for the World Heavyweight Championship at their first pay-per-view.

But with every dark side to something, there is a light side, with a lack of roleplaying quality comes the opportunity to lead a federation. This is a federation that you could go into and be the "main eventer", "the man", the "great one", the "icon" ... the man that no one will be able to take down, and you will forever be looked up to. That's what I like about new federations coming out, you go in and you can become an icon within days and
people will look up to you forever and if that federation ever makes mainstream then you will be renown. The federation uses IkonBoard board systems for their television channel, and that is also a plus in my book.

Overall this federation looks like something that you could be involved in and enjoy for the rest of your wrestling career. This isn't going to be mainstream right away mind you, but if you are any good and you have a bit
of patience, this could be the federation for you.

Personally, Andi Gorman is a great guy to work with, I have worked with him before and it has been a great experience each time. If you're an angle guy this is definitely a place that you could lead in.

If you wish to be in the running for having your e-federation reviewed and a possibility of becoming advertised by FWrestling.com, please e-mail me
(strike333@hotmail.com), and tell me some basic things that are different from average e-federations in your e-mail and give me the link to your site.

The ratings are based on a scale of one to ten on each of the separate categories, if you don't like the results ... tough. If you think that the results suck and I didn't do it correctly go somewhere else to get a review.
