I think Punk could do better than Lesnar, relatively speaking. What I mean is, Lesnar's biggest hole (other than diverticulitis) was that he didn't want to get touched, AT ALL, and it showed every time he got tagged (Carwin, Cain). A lot of that is because he never wanted to get really pushed in training and never wanted to get out of his own comfort zone.
Punk will have none of that, who knows if he can take a punch in a pro fight, but he certainly won't shy away from it in training. I figure that if he doesn't want to get tagged in training after getting into it, he'll know that fighting for real isn't going to be for him.
All that said, as to my "could do better than Lesnar" is that he could go for a while longer, more wins, maybe earn more overall respect, but I don't think he'll ever come close to winning a belt in the UFC. He certainly won't win a belt at 185 or 170, there's entirely too many top level guys that he would have to get through, and that's not counting the guys who are jockeying for a shot at getting there as well.
