NOW I'm insulted.

My Absinthe is the real deal. It is always and will always be the real deal, with the exception of the isolated bottles I got in the early days of my absintheur career because I wanted to try as many different brands as I could.

Just cracked a new bottle of La Fee this evening and mixing it with Rockstar is surprisingly tasty. First time I've ever not used my Absinthe fountain and slotted spoon to make my drink.

If you have the means I recommend La Fee, Mari Mayans, Absinthe Ordinaire, and a clear brand that turns milky white when you louche it called Versinthe.

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EEEEEVER accuse me of drinking an inferior brand.

This drink is too bossa nova to really be offended.

I would stay away from any Czech brand, or any brand from the Eastern Bloc. That's the new school of Absinthe and it's chemical in nature. French brands are the best because of the history, and Spanish brands are also tip top because Absinthe was never banned in Spain.

You can get La Fee in a lot of US stores. Just stay away from Absente (fake absinthe without wormwood), Lucid brand (tastes like CRAAAAAP), La Torment (I've seen this one in bars and had to break the news to my bartender friend Alison who served it that it was terrible), and Mansinthe.

Although I have an unopened bottle of Mansinthe because the art is cool, it's just a substandard drink.

I know he considers himself one but if that was really true his own brand wouldn't taste wretched.
