I've been meaning to do this, but I couldn't because I didn't want to tip my hand as to my booking decision. Now that it's all over, I think I can give this to you (and Allan) in good conscience.
I thought your RP had solid mechanics. You set up the theme well, and I chuckled at some points in there. However, where I thought you had problems was in the payoff/resolution. I was looking for more of a resolution in the RP that tied into your preparations for the match. It had a bit of buildup, and then fell a little flat. Granted, I'm really glad you had a strong tie-in to the match, ie, making up for what went wrong by scoring x amount of pinfalls to cover the losses by Krystal Burger. You get what the hobby's about, but I thought you may have missed the boat on what the RP should have been about.
However, I would also like to say that through this match and your other two TiT matches, you've shown me so much, and I really do think you are part of the future of this hobby. I hope that you're not discouraged from trying future TEAM events, and I'd also love to see you in an FW fed regularly, be it one of the feds hosted here, or whether you stick around in A1E after the Tag Tournament is over.
To be fair, Allan...
First off, I'd like to say that I'm pleasantly surprised and very satisfied with how you've been carrying the Challenge Championship. I love what you're doing, and I'm glad you're carrying the torch. I also think that you've been really good at following the themes for the each match to a tee, and you seem to get what I'm asking for without forgetting to put your own stamp on it. That being said, I thought this was your weakest of your three Challenge Championship RPs. I like how you incorporate NAPW/Rebel into your RPs and get help from them, but I felt that maybe this was the round where you showed me what was going on on your own merits. However, I did like the premise, and I thought the mechanics and the payoff did well to keep you on the babyface side of things while still keeping in theme. Good job, and good luck in the ToC and beyond.
