Canadian news sources are reporting that former Olympic judo bronze medalist Allen Coage, who wrestled for Stampede Wrestling and the WWF as Bad News Allen and Bad News Brown died suddenly at age 63 this morning in Calgary, AL at a local hospital, after being rushed to the hospital as the result of suffering chest pains.
Coage had a hip replacement operation three weeks ago; but called former wrestler and friend Gerry Morrow complaining of chest pains. Morrow got him to the hospital.
Allan Coage was an 1976 Montreal Olympics bronze medal winner in judo, started wrestling for New Japan Pro Wreslting, and started his career as a legendary heel in Stampede Wrestling in the 1980s with legendary programs with The Dynamite Kid, Archie 'The Stomper' Gouldie, Bret Hart and others.
He later worked later in WWE as Badnews Brown, working with Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper.
Coage had been working the last number of years as a security guard at a mall.
Coage is survived by his wife Helen and their children.
