RETALIATION 3
CUE UP: “Little Things” by Danny Elfman & UNKLE as the camera’s fade into in Houston, Texas as a the camera’s pan in a circle, fully exposing the cheering of a violent audience that wants one thing and one thing only, fighting. They have beers in their hands as the camera turns around the octagon cage, finally zooming in at our announcer area where Troy Young and Andrew Parker sit.
*
YOUNG: And we are live right here in Houston, Texas for what may be an exciting night in the world of Mixed Martial Arts, and it’s all brought to you by SWIFT.
*
PARKER: Couldn’t have said it better my self Troy, tonight will harvest probably the top two fights of SWIFT, but one thing is for certain, whatever comes from these fights will lead to us getting closer to a champion.
YOUNG: That’s why all these MMA fans are here, hello I am Troy Young and with me is Andrew Parker, tonight will boast two fights, we were scheduled for three Andrew.
*
PARKER: Well we were but a training injury will leave Edward Rain out of this fight, and maybe out of the sport of MMA we are not to certain as of yet more to come as we get news from the figure heads.
*
YOUNG: Now with that said Andrew, and you are a lot more in focus with the sport of MMA than I am, what does that mean for Kenneth Williams?
*
PARKER: Williams is not new to any environment of fighting, the guy is a brick house, it is going to hurt hi a bit that he is not going to be able to fight tonight but it won’t be such a shell shock.
*
YOUNG: Do you think that because of this cancelled match up that him over training will cause a defeat later when he does get a match or is this a plus on his side, no fight, no injuries and he is going to walk in 100%?
PARKER: As the saying goes you never really walk into a fight 100%, even Jonathan Marx tonight, he has been in two fights already this is going to be his third in a month, that is unheard of, but that’s what’s expected when you sign that contract with Colin Corvitz. He wants you to fight, and he will push a fight week after week until you say, ‘hey I need a break.’
*
YOUNG: Let’s talk about the Liu Kuan versus Jimmy Rollins fight, we have two new comers to our cage, both fighting for title contender-ship in this round robin, which is amazing. Liu Kane is a karate guy, we have seen these guys before, good strikers, decent ground. Is he really a good match up against the Judo specialist Jimmy Rollins?
*
PARKER: We are going to see two things from these guys, a lot of counter punches from Kuan and a lot of throws from Rollins. The issue is will Rollins be able to change elevation to get in clinch range of Kuan for those throws and trips.
*
YOUNG: I think he can, I stopped into Rollins gym, watched the guy train, he is a hard worker, he can put out a persons lights.
*
PARKER: And so can Kuan, so we are looking at a pretty decent match up there.
*
YOUNG: You know where I am going next don’t you? I love Jonathan Marx, I think he is the best thing to hit MMA, to even hit SWIFT!
PARKER: Marx has impressed everyone his last two fights, one fight he won by an easy TKO and the second fight by a clear rear naked choke. He has shown much improvement in his game, bar none. But…
*
YOUNG: There is always a but, isn’t there?
*
PARKER: In this case yes, David Abbey and Edward Rain were hyped, David Abbey has left SWIFT, exited contract after his fight with Marx, Edward Rain injured about to exit contract, who is Marx facing this week? A very eager, very willing to punish Eli Scheinberg.
*
YOUNG: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Stop it there my friend, Marx is creditable, he is practically a corner stone of SWIFT, he is an icon in professional wrestling, the end. I see this fight ending round one.
*
PARKER: Well, its wrestler versus wrestler so this match will be technical, it will be hard and it will be a test of strength There is no room for error by either of these two men, who ever makes the first mistake will pay, and pay dearly.
*
YOUNG: Well as I said, Marx, first round. What we have occurring in SWIFT at the moment is a round robin tournament, each fighter will fight one another on different Retaliations each win will count as a point, the top two fighters with the most points will advance to fight for our beloved SWIFT: Championship at our first pay per view, End Game.
*
PARKER: It is very exciting when you think about it Troy, our champion will be crowned shortly.
