So...here we are again. Another year, another "break."
You've waited incredibly patiently for GOLD RUSH. Thanks to those of you who heard my cry and offered to take up part of it. If you've visited the CSWAwrestling.com site, then you've seen that the target date for it is 3/24. I don't know if we'll hit that date, but my expectation is that it'll be pretty close, thanks to those aforementioned friends.
After that? Well, there's the rub. There's still a story or two I'd like to tell, but that only makes sense if there's a league to tell it around. So...below you'll find a basic idea of the overarching format I'd like to use moving forward. Feel free to give thoughts, suggestions, and especially to let me know if you're up for (whether a current member or prospective one).

The Timing
CSWA ANNIVERSARY: Coming of Age (featuring GOLD RUSH) takes place in September 2006. Rather than using the usual "time jump" that we have in the past for 'breaks' (usually explained by some storyline method), instead events will continue in "real time," meaning that the "Road to FISH FUND" will run from October 2006 to April 2007. During that time, certain CSWA events will be 'highlighted' -- meaning that they'll be written up as 'key' parts of the ongoing story. They'll have regular matches, roleplay, etc. as usual.
So in other words, the October 2006-April 2007 period will be compressed into a series of events that appear over the next couple of months. After FISH FUND, we'll 'time jump' back into the current day, which will be explained by the overarching storyline.
The Story
If you've read the news on the CSWA homepage, then you know that in the wake of FISH FUND, the CSWA ownership changes hands. The who, how and why is all part of that big storyline -- but I think you can guess that it might just have something to do with the Hacker.
During the "past" timeframe we'll be operating in, the CSWA will be celebrating a 'big win' (hopefully) in ANNIVERSARY, then moving forward, only to find out that there are a couple of other big hurdles thrown in the way, including the loss of U-62 as a television outlet.
At the same time, the Hacker will be wreaking his own brand of havoc behind-the-scenes, potentially affecting several of the wrestlers and other characters. (And of course there's still a big boat to account for! And poor Marvin Parsons!)
The Intent
The intent is just to get back to the big ball o' fun that things should be. The CSWA has always been wrestling-storyline-focused, with a huge dash of craziness and comedy thrown in. My goal is always for the 'league' storyline to be a jumping off point for the stories you want to tell and the feuds that are a part of them.
There obviously needs to be some tightening up of timeframes, and hopefully we can get the roleplay and matchwriting periods on the right track with the help of dedicated members (and a dedicated fedhead!). The backend structure is in place, allowing for others than just myself to be able to edit and post cards, news, etc. -- pretty much everything on the site is run through the Content Manager now.
The End
So there we are once again. As always, it depends on the willingness of you wonderful people to come back and tell a story. I've given you the barebones outline, but you're the ones that flesh it out and make it truly work.
I'd love to get your thoughts, whether here or in PMs or by e-mail. Again, that goes whether you're a long-time member, a GOLD RUSH participant, or a casual browser with interest.
Thanks all.
