I know politics is a powder keg, but this year's a pretty important one for the good ol' US of A. So, do you have a horse in the race, or do you just not care?

Also, all write-in votes for Gordon Oliver Powell are encouraged ;)

I had a couple guys I really liked. Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, and then my brightest hope, Ron Paul. These three are actually pretty close on alot of things and most of that falls under the kinds of things I like to think I stand for.

Obama.

a slew of reasons.. see; here, for my lighter take on it. from the blog i contribute to w/ my older brother and younger sister.

there was a time that i thought john mccain was one of the coolest republican senators walking. i hate how he's kinda playing the kissass role lately. i realize that it's necessary, given his situation. but it comes across as disengenuous. enough of THAT. that being said i could maybe see myself voting for him if hillary is the dem nominee. decent possibility.

and dave, how could this thread POSSIBLY turn ugly? :)

... not to mention the fact that McCain disrespected every combat veteran out there by playing politics with Iraq.

How, you may ask? (or not)

He went to Iraq with a ton of security to make sure he was safe, then came back singing the praises of how safe the Iraqi streets are and how they are as safe an Indiana outdoor market... or something to that effect. I'm thinking Obama because I like his flexible and optimistic approach to many issues, plus he seems genuine which is a hard quality to come by.

I will not vote for Clinton or McCain. I also don't understand why race or gender should have anything to do with politics even though it's one of the main things the news media focuses on. Just the other day I heard them saying this year was an interesting campaign year because the presidential candidates were an Evangelical, a blakc guy (he's actually more than just black, lol, but what does that have to do with anything), a woman, the old man, and a Mormon.

Great stuff, seriously.

My only goal in life is to make Dave Brunk correct in everything he says and does. It ain't easy... he doesn't give me a lot to work with.

LOL....

Well, the last time we had an election there was a thread like this and there was MAJOR flaming. Ask Ryan Strawsma. He and I didn't talk for like a year after that thread. :)

Then, he ended up being right - which I hate.

Mr. Ray does a much better job of making me look right. Damn Strawsma, you suck.

Yay!

I hear where you are coming from. These days there are so many negative labels placed on anything political and ideological... liberal, conservative, democrat, republican, right wing, left wing... ridiculous. It's getting so bad that it's almost become the new racism.

With all that is going on in the world, it's easy to get fired up about things.
