JONATHAN MARX: Over the last century, wrestling has had a long history of a lot of great world heavyweight champions, legends like Hornet, Dan Ryan, Mike Randalls, Doc Silver, Michael Manson, Maelstrom, Shawn Hart, and even my father, Arthur, who was a champion in the very first NGEN, but when I walk into the cage and defeat Price, I will do something that none of those men have ever done before, I will be the only man to have won a world heavyweight title in both wrestling and mixed martial arts.
This win will not only cement my legacy among the alltime greats, it will show the toughness and grit of all those that came before me and bring back respect to the SPORT of professional wrestling.
Sometimes I make jokes here and there and I've been known to dabble in the absurdism, but make no mistake, when I say I want to help take pro wrestling to a new height, I mean that from the bottom of my heart and I have shown that I will give of myself even at times at my own personal detriment.
I'm opinionated, I can't shutup and let things slide just because it would make my life easier not fighting. I hate how so many people have just settled for being adequate, I want to be and I want this sport to be extraordinary.
While the hands of time have often been cruel, I won't let the misery I have faced make me tap. If and when the day comes that I fall, I want everyone to know that I gave it my all and I regret nothing. I love everyone and everything, even those who I've fought with in the past...
This world heavyweight title match against Price is the most important fight of my life. I've fought all of the greatest wrestlers of my generation and whether I lost or won, I showed the world the fighting spirit with in me and fought with everything I have.
