Again for reference, this is the cast and crew of the NFW Eastern Conference.

SETTING: The FZM Arena, which is located just outside of Tokyo, Japan. The real name of the arena is the Emperors Arena, and it's a first-rate estbalishment, built to American standards for the influx of tourism and so it could host international events. It has been nicknamed the FZM Arena because that promotion has a partial ownership in the building and the arena hosts the majority of their shows. However, other Japanese feds, such as Ultimo Japan, and American venues and sports teams have also run shows there, and the arena has also been host to multiple supercards and joint Japanese wrestling promotion ventures. Down the road is the infamous FZM Dojo, where the promotion trains up and comers and has them jog the 12 miles to the arena to train in the ring on mornings when the arena is empty.

THE BOSS(ES): The NFW East is controlled by the Council of Elders who run the FZM. They are answerable to the NFW brass in all matters that pertain to the NFW, though they have been running their own fed for decades. They tend to rule from afar and ordinarily only appear as a group. A brief back history entails FZM having a rivalry with Ultimo Japan for decades. While the promotions hate each other more than WCW and WWF ever did, they have done business together for the sake of making money and the "supposed" honor of the industry. Ultimo Japan has run shows out of the FZM Arena, and appeared at joint shows there, but also maintains a presence in Tokyo at large. They have offices there, and a deal with several martial arts academies to provide facilities for training and recuitment. UJ's corporate home is in Hiroshima, where the legendary Ultimo Japan Academy is situated on the outskirts of the city along its river. UJ is generally much like New Japan's junior division with Lyger, Wild Pegasus, and Black Tiger, while FZM resembles the head-dropping heavyweights more. Both have allowed hardcore events, but UJ does them more rarely to build up the suspense, while FZM has started to do them more frequently, and push the envelope more, to drum up business. UJ relies more on its personalities to carry the fed, along with its workrate, which is a priority in any Japanese fed.
Notable UJ alum: Mephisto (Mike Manson), Phoenix (Mike Randalls), and Panda Mask II and III.
Notable FZM alum: Phoenix (Mike Randall), the original Panda Mask

-The Grand Elder of the FZM, the head of the Council of Elders, is Susano-O-No-Mikoto, named for the Japanese god of storms and referred to as the "Man of Lightning". Now 85 years old, he is still powerfully built and an intimidating presence to some. He is respected in some circles, but feared by all for his ruthless promotional tactics. His children all work in various positions for FZM, and many of the other elders have had children who were wrestlers there. Mikoto and the other Elders still wield much power in FZM, but in recent years, other authorities within the fed, and within the body of the governing board of Japanese Wrestling have asserted themselves, and the council is no longer as powerful as they once were. That's partially their motivation for running an NFW conference, and in the hopes of exposing their style and promotion to the rest of the world, and hoping for a talent exchange program with the NFW and other promotions around the world. Mikoto also has a personal motive in wanting to reshape the global wrestling world into what he deems an honorable environment, like in his youth, and he was spurned into this, years ago, when having dinner at a fine sushi restaurant with a young wrestler who is more exciting than Jesus ten years ago. He had been hoping to steal him away from Ultimo Japan, so the wrestler (who in his anger Mikoto refuses to use his name), a disrespectful gaijin who preferred to wear black, ate the dinner he ordered, then ate the dinner Mikoto ordered, then turned down the FZM deal when he was not promised a bowl of strawberry pez before every show. He left, but not before giving Mikoto the finger, and earning an enemy for life.

-Mikoto is rumored to have funded the FZM with yakuza money, though nothing has been proven. He is a direct descendant of one of a powerful line of samurais that still commands admiration in Japan, and has a black belt in 3 martial arts. His ruthlessness aside, he will do anything for his granddaughter, Ryoko, who has recently become engaged to an American doctor.

COMMENTATORS:

PLAY BY PLAY: Rayne, a woman in her late 20s who served in the same announce position for the original NFW East. She follows Michael Manson religiously and politically. She has been a valet for Torch, an old NFW roster member, and was Michael Manson's pagan assistant when he was comissioner. While untrained in actual wrestling, Rayne grew up around the industry and has a vast knowledge of move/countermove and ring psychology which would shame most men. She changes her hair color often and is basically a gothic tomboy who acts as anyone who believes Mike Manson is the savior of the world would act. Rayne has a dry sense of cynical humor, and is generally detached from the match, and only raises her voice because she knows she has to. She is quite self-aware and knows when to look for the run-in, or when someone's about to cheat. Basically, she's far smarter than any commentator on TV. She is also unsettled by Beau Michaels-Cruise, but that says more about Beau than her.

COLOR: Greenie, aka the Green Machine. A former lackey for Doc Silver and also a part-time wrestler. He's comic relief and the foil to Rayne, and generally prefers the heels. While not as knowledgeable about actual wrestling as Rayne, he makes up for it with knowledge about the personalities and storylines of the NFW. A gossip and rumor-spreading whore.

ANNOUNCERS:

RING ANNOUNCER: Cannibal Peters, your standard ring announcer, who resembles Hannibal Lecter, and won't back down from wrestlers if threatened.

TRANSLATOR/RING ANNOUNCER: Paul Shiro, a dual Japanese-American citizen who is fluent in both English and Japansese has recently graduated form grad school in Europe and now works for NFW, trading off with Peters, or translating for him, whatever the situation calls for.

INTERVIEWERS (backstage or otherwise): Snow White, a young albino woman who wears only white. Ultra-sexual and sensuous, she actually enjoys Beau Michaels-Cruise's company and they exchange Christmas cards. She doesn't speak Japanese and is mainly for the American audience, but there will be subtitles to her words.
The other announcer is Aaron Kaufelle, a German native who is fluent in German, English, and Japanese, not to mention a host of other languages. He is more straight to business than Snow White, and translates for wrestlers when needed.

REFEREES:
The head officials are the twin brothers, Asai and Tenchi Tseng. Both have much experience and are wise to the ways of wrestlers and their tactics. Asai formerly worked for Ultimo Japan and has a history of trying to outwit and contain Mephisto. Asai, however, does give wrestlers more leeway with the idea of bringing the match to a finish so the crowd sees an actual show. Tenchi sees wrestling as a strict sport and calls it seriously and sternly. The officials are somehow in-between, and lean towards whoever in charge for the night. Asai and Tenchi have a personal rivalry over who refs the more important matches. When not officiating, the Tseng brothers run their own dojo in Tokyo, and sometimes do business with Asai's old contacts in UJ, however, to them, it's all business and they don't spy or try any dirty-dealing. All NFW East officials are at least first degree black belts and are more than able to handle themselves in the ring. An errant elbow, or getting pushed down, will not cause them to lie dead for an hour like in America. They know all the tricks and cliches, as do the commentators, as do all of us.

NOTES: If you want to add any characters, or give any of your characters a background in UJ or FZM, go ahead. Also, keep in mind, this is Japan where workrate is king, and everyting either comes second or flows through the workrate. There is not a code of honor, persay, but a certain conduct is expected in and out of the ring, which is something the Council of Elders will try to "encourage", and several wrestlers will also be interested in that. Michael Manson, of course, in his masked guise of Mephisto, was infamous for breaking FZM conduct and enforcing UJ conduct at FZM cards, which lead to Mephisto v Phoenix at the UJ/FZM joint show Nemesis One back in late 1994.

Update:

Paul Shiro replaces Rayne as play-by-play commentator. Think Joey Styles but Japanese-American.
