Damned if I have it, and damned if I don't. (Part 2)
*(Fade In)...
*(The camera comes on with a loud, resounding echo on the top of an English green hill top, "WOOHOO, I finally did it. Go me, I rule!" The voice is none other than GXW reporter, Joey Tyler who finally installed the new battery to the camera that went out. He now picks up the camera and heads straight up the hilltop hoping to find one "HellFighter" Michael Shutt. After a few step up, emerges on the big hill and looks down and out. He can see below. He films what appears to be the cameraman, who just finally made it back down the hill and walking toward the village. Tyler then turns around to find a figure sitting at the edge of the hill looking down. The figure is sitting "Indian style" on a grassy spot on the ground soaking up the rain. Tyler takes the camera and slowly approaches the figure. The figure is wearing a black Addidias windbreaker with white trim ensemble...both top and bottoms...and Addidias tennis shoes. Tyler shows that the figure is none other than "HellFighter" Michael Shutt. Tyler sets the camera down angled in the direction of HellFighter, then he causiously approaches HellFighter ready to speak him him. Let's listen in.)...
Joey Tyler: "HellFighter? (He sits down a little right next to him, but not too close to speak to him) "You're not an easy man to find. Do you know the trouble it took me to find you? Oh well that doesn't matter. What matters is that I found you. Now that I found you, how about we get off this hill, out of this rain, and into somewhere that's a little more warm and dry? Come on what do you say. We can talk about your match at Wembly Stadium against Cameron Cruise."
HellFighter: "Why? I'm just gonna f**kin lose again. You know, I came here to get away from you. Now you find me. You know, Tyler, you shouldn't be filming my promos, it's career suicide. You'll end your career if your even associated with me."
Tyler: "Well I'll be the judge of that HellFighter. Of course there are some people that are worth the risks."
HellFighter: "To hell with you, what do you know about risks?"
Tyler: "I know enough, but part of this was brought on by you. I want to talk about your loss to Die Kriegmaschine at Fallout, and how this will affect your match against Cruise on the next card?"
HellFighter: (He glances up and over at Tyler, the rain drips off his face) "I lost. You know I hate to lose, now let it go and let me live in my misery. It's where I belong next to a nice grave."
Tyler: "Yeah, but I have watched that match over and over again, and I noticed something about that match. It wasn't you HellFighter. That match was not a trademark HellFighter styled match. Something was missing, now what do you think that is HellFighter? Come on I know you can tell me."
HellFighter: "I don't know Tyler, you tell me."
Tyler: "Almost over four weeks before you brought Die Kriegmaschine to his knees wallowing in agony, and yet he all of a sudden musters up the strength to fight through your offenses and pummel you to the ground. Something just doesn't add up to me HellFighter. That match was not you. Kriegmaschine was not fighting the real HellFighter. He was fighting someone else in your place, an evil twin perhaps?"
HellFighter: "Gee Tyler, it's amazing what a nicely placed steel pipe will do to any human being...including some so-called rookie monster. If anything, it shows me that when it came right down to it, I couldn't compete against the German machine when it really mattered. I choked. (He mutters underneath his breath as his voice lowers hoping for Tyler not to hear) I gave up. (He hangs his head down in shame again)"
Tyler: "What was that HellFighter?"
HellFighter: "Nothing. I'm a BIG...FAT...NOTHING!"
Tyler: "No you're not. I think I heard you say, 'I gave up.' Of course it makes sense. Simply put, a very poorly booked match where a 7'4 giant plays some sort of Undertaker type of role and no sells your moves. You gave up because you thought it was no use fighting him, so when the time came you could went on to fight Kriegmaschine, but YOU GAVE UP. You stayed down for the 10 count and allowed Die to be declared the winner."
HellFighter: You have no idea what I was going through in that match. You have no idea what I was thinking."
Tyler: "Oh come on HellFighter, do you honestly think that a high impacting stiff chokeslam would keep you down for the for a 3 count, let alone a ten count? I've seen you get up from a lot worse HellFighter. I find it really hard to believe that a mere chokeslam would take down the immortal HellFighter."
HellFighter: "Who said that I was immortal?"
Tyler: "I did, and what little fans you have left that still believe in you. More importantly, I think you know who still believes once and for all that HE never gave up on you. Let's just say that HE will never leave you nor forsake you."
HellFighter: "Why do you care? You're just a reporter."
Tyler: "I'm also you're friend, no matter how much you abuse me Dan Ryan style. I am your friend."
HellFighter: "Yeah right, I have no friends."
Tyler: "Well are you sure about that?"
HellFighter: "Honestly, I don't know what I am sure of anymore. When I first entered pro wrestling. Somebody told me that faith and wrestling didn't mix. I should of stayed quiet, but I took a chance anyway. I was sure of myself then, but that certainty faded. Then I thought I humor everybody and give them what they wanted. I give up my faith. That didn't worked because they still branded me as, 'the god boy'. I thought I was sure then. Now it seems like I am damned with my faith, and I am certainly damned without it. I feel like I lost myself when I gave it all up."
Tyler: "Of course you did. You're faith in Your God wasn't a gimmick just to appeal to the fans. It truly was your identity. It is who you are. You are not a fake. You were never a fake. You were origional, you were unique. You were one of a kind unlike any other. You were never damned...until you gave it all up. You had it all along, and lost it all in one promo."
HellFighter: "I know I dug my own grave, and dug it deeper with each and every action."
Tyler: "Yeah but even you can climb out of it. It's what makes you...well...YOU."
HellFighter: "How can you be sure?"
Tyler: "Because I know your career, and it reflects your life. You will bounce back. All this will pass, but you gotta move on. It has to start with Cameron Cruise at Wembly Stadium. Are you willing to get out of this hole that you have dug yourself in?"
HellFighter: "I don't know. I want to, but I don't know if I can."
Tyler: "Well that's a start. You want to. Now follow through with that."
HellFighter: "I guess you're right. You know Tyler, when I was fighting Die Kriegmaschine in that last man standing match, and I finally decided to stay down and not get up. As I heard the ref administer his ten count, I know I could of got up and continued the match, but I gave up. Those ten seconds were the longest moments in my entire career, my entire life. I think that for those ten seconds, I think I was in hell, and I don't want to go back there."
Tyler: "Well who does want to be there HellFighter?"
HellFighter: "Not me."
Tyler: "Well then, what are you gonna do about it?"
HellFighter: "I think, I'm going to start by beating Cameron Cruise this week."
Tyler: (Smiling) "Now you know why your name is HellFighter. You are able to go all the way to hell, fight for your life, and come back ready for the next fight. It's who you."
HellFighter: "I just hope that I can be like what I used to be."
Tyler: "Well that really can't happen HellFighter."
HellFighter: "It can't?"
Tyler: "Because it's in the past, just like Kriegmaschine was in the past. Your future is now, and it all starts with Cruise. Besides I think that you can be better than what you use to be. In fact, you are. You've just been driven through the fire. You'll look back and you will see that all of this was worth it...in the end."
HellFighter: "I hope you're right."
Tyler: "It's not about me. It's not even about you. You know what it's all about."
HellFighter: "I guess I do."
Tyler: "Now what do you say we get out of this rain before we catch a black plague and you can't compete against Cruise next week."
HellFighter: "Good idea. I wouldn't want to give Cruise any advantages in the match."
Tyler: "Exactly."
(They both stand up. Tyler picks up the camera as they start walking back down the hill.)
Tyler: "You know HellFighter, believe it or not, but I missed the old you. Most of the other camera ops also missed the old HellFighter to. The new HellFighter was too much like...Dan Ryan to say the least."
HellFighter: "Oh yeah, what's he like?"
Tyler: "An #####, but then again it goes with the territory of being a hated heel. Which shows me one thing about you."
HellFighter: "What's that?"
Tyler: "You're just not the bad guy type. Most wrestlers aren't. You're just too real of a good guy to be a bad guy anyway."
HellFighter: "Really? (Tyler nods yes) I thought I made a good bad guy." (Tyler shakes his head no.)
Tyler: "Nope. For starters you try too hard. You make hard things easy and easy things hard. Well take it from me HellFighter, most guys who play badguys, aren't really acting. Just like you. You're not acting when you are being the good guy, it's who you are."
HellFighter: "Oh...well...okay."
(Tyler hits the button on the power to turn off the camera. The camera fades out to static, and then to black...er I mean white.)
*FADE TO WHITE*
