OOC: I originally planned to wait to post something until after RELOADED 15 before all the other various issues caused the card to be delayed. I didn’t want to sit around anymore, so I decided to write instead.

(The camera opens to Leyenda de Ocho, wearing a forest green-and-gold checkerboard mask emblazoned with a black Hyrule Royal Crest on the forehead, his trademark pastel pink hoodie, and clean, if a bit worn, blue jeans. He sits on a stool in front of a very pixelated NFW backdrop, hands intertwined across his lap as he leans slightly forward.)

Ocho: “You picked the wrong guy, Rook.

Say whatever you want to say about calculated risk, about ‘ensuring’ that your biggest threat, the guy you spent the most time sweating about before we reached Helsinki, would win out no matter the cost. When you made the choice to sully the efforts of three other warriors who were throwing their all for a shot at the Triforce Belt instead of allowing me to prove to the boys in the back that I had the ability to win these kind of matches on my own with no questions asked, you picked the wrong guy to mess with. I have all the respect in the world for guys like Ramey, Smallz and Orange Dragon II, but you and I both know that I didn’t NEED your help to get the job done. All you did was turn something that could have been artful and beautiful into a sham, and none of us will forgive you for that.

But that’s your favorite thing to do, isn’t it?

Main event time…and while I didn’t know at the time that you had screwed over my opponents, I knew you were a man I had to vanquish. A man who has taken a pure symbol of courage, wisdom and power and turned it into an amalgamation of easy-ways-out, lies and deception; a Chimera beast of shame and dishonor. That alone is enough to give any Player One the motivation to face his Final Boss.

I was there, Rook. I was ON THE CUSP of doing what I said I would; taking that beautiful belt around your waist once and for all, beginning the road of redeeming the honor and glory the Triforce Belt SHOULD represent. And then…?

I’ve heard the phrase ‘if you can’t beat him, join him’…but I NEVER thought I’d see a man like yourself take the route of ‘if you can’t beat him, round up three new friends that SHOULD be beneath you so they can beat him for you’.

That’s the most frustrating thing about you, Rook. That’s what makes you the worst kind of villain. You’re a man with all the skill in the world…an acclaimed master of the renowned Black and Black Technical school of wrestling, a four-year CHAMPION, a man who, by all means, has every right to say he deserves a shot at the World Title right here and now. But when you’re cornered? When you find yourself with a hungry opponent, ready to give you the first legitimate challenge you’ve had in ages? You don’t go to that skill…you don’t go to that veteran instinct that should win out over any 23 year old kid who’s flying around on all high on adrenaline and courage.

You cheat. You cheat yourself, you cheat your opponent, you cheat the fans, you cheat NFW. You allow yourself to become a denigrated shell of a wrestler, content to do whatever it takes to hold onto the strap even if it means making it COMPLETELY devoid of any semblance of virtue it once held.

You’re a troll. You’re the cartridge that glitches out when a player is ready to beat the game.

I don’t know what’s going to happen out there in the Grand Prix finale, but Lord knows I’m going to give it my all. If I’m lucky enough to win…well, at least I think Impulse isn’t the kind of person who would treat his title like you treat yours. He’ll rely on skill and skill alone, the way it should be.

But whatever happens in Amsterdam, know this; you and I have unfinished business, Rook. I don’t care how many jackals you surround yourself with to protect your precious title reign; I don’t care if I have to battle through Impulse, the Hellfire Club, Legion’s constant distractions, or Phil Flippin’ Atken; I don’t care if I wear the only white hat in the entire company and I have to go it alone – I WILL restore purity to the Triforce Belt.

I told you before, Rook – there’s only one way this can end. You’ve managed to delay the game for a while longer – all the more for me to sink my teeth into. You can’t hide forever. And if you were hoping for anything different?

You picked. The wrong. GUY.”

(Fade to black.)
