Jesus Christ...375 posts about the judging and not one mention of the card itself. I just want to say that even though it was short form, I really enjoyed how Krusher/Marx was written and the difference in effort and quality was CLEAR in the later matches of the bracket as opposed to the early matches. I know that deadlines are tight and people have volunteered to write the matches (in short form) but I would expect a pretty consistent quality (like how my match was written) throughout the bracket in a tournament like this. Just my two cents.

One more thing...THANK YOU to all the judges and match writers who volunteered their time to do this.

I would argue that as we got further in the tournament, matches will get better as judges won't have to write multiple matches in a few days and we'll have more bodies to write them.

However, I will say as a writer, I tried to reward quality and people who did 2 rps vs 2 to reward those who may only have this match on their Ultratitle resume.

EDIT: I'm totally fine with private message justifications on wins and losses, handlers asking judges why they won/lost as long as this is never spoken about on the forums. I guess with judges being kept somewhat anonymous (or maybe it was spoken once in a thread and I forgot about it), messages should be sent to Chad who can forward them to the relevant parties.
This. Should. Not. Be.
Nobody should be IM/PM'ing the judges out of the blue to ask why they lost. How does that even sound like an 'ok' thing to do? - Unless of course they openly state that is okay to do so. Sure some will!
Remember it is not just one SINGLE judge per round. So even if they didn't like your work over the other guys, doesn't mean the other judges felt the same way. It could have been down the middle and the overall scores factored in in the end.

And are we truly getting on about the whole Narrative versus Script style? This is FW I would think that it leans more towards Script style given the amount of RP feds? May be wrong, but that just goes to show this really shouldn't matter.

And yeah if I judged bracket 1, Blaine would have went over Zero due to the content and focus.

All in all though, even if you get the informaton of what a judge is looking for based on how you did the last round... how do you know you will have that same judge voting again for you the following round? You don't :) So even if you wanted to tailor the next RP set around that judge's specifications looked for, the actual judges of that round's bracket, may be completely 180' :)

Thanks to all involved with Bracket 1 Round 1 results, judging and podcast. You all did a great job with this. The card was cool to read through.

Keep up the great job.

And thanks again Warren for an awesome battle. You are definitely someone I would love to work with in some regard in the future no matter who the characters are coz you make this game fun to play.

Good luck to Mr. Andrews for our round 2 clash and the rest of you in your competitions.

First, thanks for the appreciation (that sounds weird to say, but you know what I mean!) I wrote that match, and one of the reasons it was longer was because I had it pegged as the Main Event for the Troy, Ohio shows - largely due to handler work and that both guys were more veteran.

As for a difference in quality, what I will say is that when I did mine, I did it NFW Brawl style (as I see it - Katz, don't kill me if I'm wrong) and not the classic short form. That is, largely, due to me not using short form in a LONG time and I wasn't comfortable with it. So, instead of putting out drivel, I put a bit of extra verbage in. If you feel a lacking in quality of the early stuff, it's likely due to my overdoing it beyond what Chad wanted. They gave what was expected. I couldn't figure out how to do so therefore I did what came more natural to me.

As others have said, the match writing quality will go up as we go along. I liken this to the NCAA b-ball tourney. Round 1, you get snippets of the game(s) but don't get to watch many all the way through. Later rounds though, if the TV station switched from one game to another, they'd probably have full mutiny. We'll get there, and when we don't have to judge (for me) 32 RP threads (minus the jobbers and no shows in my brackets) and write quite so many, we'll be able to give you more of what you want!

Again, thanks for putting out what you liked about the card. I'm sure I'll screw some things up, but in this case, I've gotten at least 2 of the handlers happy. I hope to repeat this in my next set of 4 - except maybe figuring out how to do short form a bit better!

tonight's show was great, half IWF and half ULTRATitle ... Andy, Hopper, Colin, and Justin on the line... I was on for awhile, didn't need to be... And even though the turn out seemed low, it was great, and the few who were there now understand ULTRATitle is Bloodsport with JCVD! I call Frank Dukes lol

Wish I could have been on for this one. Great show, and a good collection of guests. Stanton and I might try and get one in next week, and if that happens I'd love to have Andy (Zero's handler) on.

Maybe Wed. or Thurs. And then we'll have Spooky on to explain to him that Blaine is not a Hollywood Superstar, he's an OXONIAN!

So call him Oxonian Blaine and not Hollywood Blaine already!

Blaine is the son of Lamont Hollywood, long-time NFW announcer. Legacy and elitism is basically him gimmick.

You didn't read the promos, did you Spooky? DID YOU SPOOKY?

No, no, i did, three times; I too love characters with intentionally misleading names. It's innovative in how it totally goes against how gimmicks work in the real world. Hollywood should always start his promos by saying he's not from Hollywood.

I have to wonder, if I had entered Rarren Dovell instead of Umpiro, would I be in round 2 right now? Probably not, and I'd probably hate myself for having to read Darren Rovell's twitter account for source material.

How is it misleading? His gimmick is that he's the Oxford-educated legacy of a decade-old character from FWC's longest running league...and his last name reflects that. The promos that you read three times are not "Hollywood superstar" at all, so it seems to me you assumed that based on his last name.

NOW GO GET MY BACONATOR, BOY!

His name is "Hollywood" Blaine Hollywood and he's from Oxford; got it. Just slice something off your gut and you'll have enough bacon to last you weeks. I'm all about finding solutions to life's problems.
