Désordre Grandiose...(Or "Butterflies")
(Fade into Golem sitting behind his piano. He gently plays a sad tune.)
Golem: The silence is golden, Psycho. The silence speaks to us all in different ways. I am afraid, however, that you and Golem are hearing very different things from the silence. You think that you're a deserving championship contender? You? You're a flunkie. You're designed for failure. There is nothing glorious about who you are. In the state you're currently in, you'd be no challenge for Felix Red. No, it's clear that this is my time. And I really can't think for any example more telling than your own words.
(Golem speeds the beat up.)
Golem: You sobered up during the middle of LOVE and realized that LOVE was falling apart. You realized that Red and Wells were on a downward spiral. And what did you do? You sat back, like the insignificant wretch that you are, and went down with it. It's really not your fault, of course. That's just who you are. You're a follower. You danced to whatever beat they demanded of you and when it came down to fighting over the WFW title, you stood back and watched the rest of LOVE fight over it.
(Golem abruptly stops playing and turns to the camera.)
Golem: And now...now that your little boy's club has disintegrated before your very eyes, now you're ready to reclaim the title? How convenient. You see, that's not my story. I am accustomed to worrying about myself and striving for my own success the entire way. You know why you held the WFW title before and I haven't? Because you held it long before I came to the WFW. Before I arrived and debuted in the main event, teaming with you. You see, that's the way it is. You have to fight so hard for your opportunities and I have mine handed to me. And do you know why? It's because I am the chosen one. I am the destiny child. You might have the scars of great battles and the youth that I lost ages ago. But that is irrelevant. My talent is impeccable. My intelligence is unequivocal. And my desire to cause suffering to all who oppose is unquenchable. Golem is the immortal flame, the last kiss, the final breath. I am the riddle. Golem is the answer.
(Golem rotates back to his piano and returns to the original sad tune.)
Golem: And you, Psycho? You are the voice shouting in the darkness. You are the never was, the forgotten nothing that was treaded over by he who the world proclaims as champion. You are my next plaything and nothing more. What is a dangerman, after all? A dangerman appears to be a collection of bad risks and blood-stained excuses as far as I can tell. You are concentrated craziness, but that doesn't scare Golem, the all-knowing. I am the eye of time. I have returned to WFW with two simple purposes...I plan to ascend to the top of this industry. And in that same effort, I plan on tearing everyone else down. And what are you going to do to stop me? Your plan is to tell me about how you think you're in some way better than me? If I were you, I'd spend my time studying tape of what I have done to people better than you in the ring rather than blathering on about your short and insignificant career. You're a screw up who was never capable of taking over a league. I'm sure you want to tell yourself that if a nobody like Shawn Hart can grab a World title, than anybody can do it. But the truth of the matter is that people like you, people like Minion, people like Hart...you're all just chaff, cattle to the slaughter, marionettes who exist so that people like Anarky, people like Felix Red, people like GOLEM...can pull the strings. None of you will even be around long enough for me to bother committing your names to memory.
(Golem stops playing and starts shuffling through his list of sheet music.)
Golem: You'll tumble back to reality soon enough, Psycho, and I don't envy you when that happens. Soon enough you'll realize that you are playing with forces beyond your pitiful comprehension and your descent will be sudden and painful. But Golem will be there to comfort you. Golem will be there to pick up the pieces. Golem will be there to pull the strings. Eventually, you'll find a way to rationalize all of this. The mind is a funny thing that way sometimes. You suffer so much terrible trauma that eventually the mind has to hide itself behind walls of lies to protect itself. This is most likely the cause of the voices in your head. They are echoes of rationalizations from all your past failures, blemishes on your person more apparent than any scar you possess. Soon, Psycho, I will be the loudest voice that is pounding in your head. Soon you'll bend for me. Maybe you will let me lead you through the dark. Maybe you can be saved from the slaughter, little lamb, if you let Golem take your reins.
(Golem finds the one he is looking for and begins to set it up.)
Golem: You can even confer with Minion on the matter. Being in league with me has it's benefits, as Minion can attest, benefits that include not having to get in the ring opposite the one they call Golem. But you can struggle if you want to and see exactly how far that gets you...
(Golem begins playing "The Day the World Went Away" by Nine Inch Nails as the camera fades to black.)
