Are there any older fans who tuned out who are going to give this Monday a chance with Bret on RAW and Hulk & RVD on Impact? For those of you who still watch, which show will get a majority of your attention?

I met Hart once when I use to professionally wrestle, at the time he was doing a signing for his DVD The Best There is, Was, And Ever Will Be. I was heel at the time and got in the ring right after him and said te following:

"Thanks for that lovely piece Bret, now go cry about how Goldberg ruined your career and put someone in a strokeshooter."

Ever since then, he never really liked me nor talked to me following the show....

He's not a nice guy.

Gee, I wonder why! What was your ring name, "Cheap Heat" McGee?

I'm a huge Bret fan, and yeah...I'll be watching RAW this Monday. It's probably not a good idea that he wrestles again, given the severity of his injuries, but it'll be fun just to see him back and involved.

I doubt he'd even get insurance to have a match, especially after all the fuss he had to go through to get his insurance payout after the concussion! Add to that his stroke, no way Lloyds of London will touch him now.

It'll be nice to see him, though. Might tape Raw since I've got to be up early next morning but will definitely catch it when I can.

Haha, it was such cheap heat it was amazing. The faces of peoples disgust of the comment was worth it entirely. Ill watch Raw he'll wrestle and he will be in a squash match where he won't have to take many hard bumps. Just in the corner few punches arm drags and a sharpshooter, or he'll special ref a HBK match and screwjob him in Texas thn Shawn will cry and moan and run over to TNA and write TNA with his finger.

Once in TNA HBK will take a superkick to the skull from Sting which will end his career until a return to RAW in the late future.

I always liked Hart as a wrestler, but I love this. Total dick move right here. I can only imagine what the general uncomfortable feeling in the place was like.

I'll probably forget about this come Monday night. Should I remember, chances are I won't tune in. Don't hold me to it though, it sounds like fun pretending it's fucking 1997 again. TNA is the little fuck doll we write "WCW" on in magic marker, isn't it? It's been awhile since I've seen a wrestling show, but that's what this all sounds like.

About two weeks later then I got contracted with an AWA affiliate :p win/win

...until Greg Gagne Night, when Rivera got on the mic and said, "Hey Greg, nice of you to bless us with your presence. I f*cked your demented father in his Alzheimer's ass, but he forgot all about it. NOW HIT THE BRICKS!"

It's alright, John was picked up to wrestle the Brian Pillman Memorial show, where he'll surely have the mic for a minute or two.

I'm rewatching 10/27/97, 11/03/97, 11/10/97, and 11/17/97 RAWs in preparation for tomorrow. The two RAWs before Survivor Series and the two RAWs post Survivor Series...

Can't believe the amount of anti-Hart signs I'm seeing in the audience...

I saw a few, but I think he got a really great response, considering a lot of these fans never really got to see Bret in his prime. My only complaint about the segments: way too much dialogue was written. They should have kept the exchanges a bit more brief, i.e. McMahon didn't need to rehash Bret's entire career in WWE verbally. It just dragged a bit. The segment with Michaels was a lot better than the one with Vince.

The first hour of TNA was embarrassingly bad. Like, train wreck bad. I don't know what the hell they were thinking with that Asylum match in the cage. You couldn't even see half the match with those thick red bars, one section of the cage was so loose it looked like it was gonna pop off and fall to the ground at any moment (yeah, they're REALLY trapped inside a cage, eh?), and then the ending. A no contest... on a CAGE match??? Really? And not only that, but pretending like you have to escape through the top of the cage, then Jeff Hardy shows up and Homicide magically appears outside the cage?? Okay. The only thing that made that show interesting at ALL was the Styles/Angle match, but even that was a little absurd at the end. They were trying WAY to hard to make that seem like the OMG BEST MATCH EVER!! Styles and Angle hit their finishers like six times each, which is just plain stupid and completely makes their "finishers" pointless. It's overbooking in the extreme.

I did like Hogan's bit with the NWO guys the first time out when he insisted they'd have to earn their spot - but I don't ever wanna see Scott Hall on my television again. He looked like he was borderline incontinent out there. Dude is DONE. Same with the Nasty Boys. No one gives a rat's ass about the Nasty Boys.

Pope was awesome on the mic and the Knockouts were really good.

Problem with TNA is the whole thing looks so "small". The production values are super crappy compared to the WWE. It's not even close. This could change, but it appears really second rate no matter who's on the screen. The opening video package for Bret Hart on Raw was better than any package TNA's ever done.

As for Raw - most of the show was pretty blah - but the opening Bret Hart segment was the best thing about either show last night. The face to face with Shawn was absolutely surreal for a wrestling fan. The wrestling on the show was average at best, and I really really don't need Hornswoggle doing anything but acting as comedy for the kiddies. He shouldn't be anywhere near DX, but Shawn could be getting out of that angle soon. He's been asking for fan's opinions about a heel turn on facebook, and they played up some tension last night. Kofi vs. Orton was flat, and anyone who didn't think Vince was gonna swerve Bret at the end is nuts. That was way, way too obvious. So obvious that it doesn't make sense even in character that it would surprise Bret there. Seemed like a really naive moment for the character. Hell, earlier in the night I wasn't so sure Shawn wasn't gonna turn and superkick Bret in the jaw. They teased that a hell of a lot better and more believably. The "hug" wasn't the most warm hug I've ever seen and it left the door open for an ambiguous relationship down the line.

I've only seen the two videos of the Hart thing ... but looking at them ... it really seems that they bungled their re-introduction of Hart.

1) Michaels comes down .. they do their thing. I thought he was going to superkick him, but whatevs.. but here you have Bret Hart... who, IMO, was more popular w/ the fans at his peak than Shawn Michaels when he was a face... and after the "hug" (the picture of Hart's face on WWE.com sums it up perfectly) ... you play MICHAELS music? WTF? You have Bret Hart there ... play his f*cking music.

2) The Vince nut-shot was just eh. I mean... come on. I don't know was worse... seeing McMahon's plastic surgery for the first time or how they mishandled Hart.

3) ... and btw ... seeing Hart stand face to face w/ Michaels in the ring .... sad. Both guys look so old and haggard. Hell, Michaels looked cross-eyed whenever I could even see his eyes. I know its a mark moment to at least have them standing face to face in the ring again ... but eh ... all I coud think about was how good they used to be ... and look at them now and think.. "wow.. they look BAD."

I get the same thought whenever I see someone like HBK, Hogan or Flair in the ring.

I've seen a little bit of it, and by far the best thing they did with Hart occured off-air afterwards (a celebration with all the wrestlers except HBK, HHH and Hornswoggle in the ring). I hope they planned the next part of the story better, because at the moment I'm getting an impression of the mess they made of the Invasion angle. Let's give Bret a good send off, close that chapter for good (maybe retiring HBK at the same time? I've never liked him, lol) and never mention Bret in storylines again.

I have a feeling of HBK v. Bret Hart one hour iron man. They bothe will gas and be blown up but good lord would it be sexy. Especially if they actually could move like back in the day. Of course wrestlemania match. I didn't watch RAW is WAR ( that's the only way I'll address it) but I'll video it later so I feel cool and in the loop.

EDIT:

Just saw the mic spot between these two. How monotone and terrible. It was just bad. I think The E is attempting old crap too hard. It will never be the animal it was, this whole idea of being kid friedly is terrible. Gag.

Uhm... could be in the minority here, but I really liked the Hart/HBK segment. Hart's obviously out of practice on the mic, and yeah, it looked forced... but it was probably one of the better in-ring moments WWE has had in some years.

Yeah, they both look old... because it's been a decade since either man was in his prime. As a result, Bret Hart no longer wrestles, and HBK shouldn't wrestle. If you want old and sad, flip on TNA for no more than fifteen minutes while every has-been in the industry tries to draw in a paycheck while riding a sinking ship straight to the bottom.

My only gripe was the kick in the balls at the end. If this doesn't go anywhere, then it seems to be in really bad taste... to bring back a guy the fans STILL love after twelve years and just kick him in the balls. It just breathes something Vince wrote to stroke his own ego.

Oh yeah... who the **** is that pasty asshole with the stupid facial hair carrying the WWE Championship around? This is the first time I've ever flipped on wrestling and NOT recognized the champion. Of all the potential mid-carders I could have seen carrying that belt -- John Morrison, especially -- they put it on this ginger kid I've never heard of?

Bret's signed till 2 weeks past Mania, Vince Vs Bret is pretty much a given for Mania, so the ball kick will lead somewhere.

I like Sheamus, Vince is always a mark for big guys, and he's HHH's work out partner, so he's going to be around for a while..
