Alright, since there have been some complaints about things, and since the thread where most of those complaints were has been deleted over at the WfWA forums, I'm going to make this thread to give people an avenue to ask for opinions on their judging. If you want a detailed breakdown of your judging and haven't received it yet, please reply here and I'll send it to you via PM. If you'd like any of the judges to give you personal feedback on your work, reply here and they'll either PM it to you, or they'll give it public, whichever way you want it.

Also, I must stress that if you weren't part of the proceedings and want to b*tch about things, keep your damn mouth shut. Don't PM me complaining because Dove did a video promo in round 1 and you thought it was a writing competition. Don't flame people openly about results being laughable and embarrassing because your cronies didn't win when you probably didn't read all the RPs.

If you were in the ToC and have gripes about it, I will be more than happy to address them. If you weren't in the ToC and have constructive criticism, I'll be more than happy to listen. But I'm not going to entertain any pointless complaining about something that did not affect you.

Well, I was interested in Holzerman's responses to my entries for the tournament, and why he felt they didn't work, so I might as well get some more constructive criticism and hear what the other judges have to say about my entries.

I will freely cop to not having read all the RP's; but - given the pedigree of a lot of the folks that finished close to the top - I have no problem at all accepting the results as posted. There were some really good writers involved in this thing.

That said, I would love to see the judging for my work, just because I kind of like reading that stuff if it's available.

Congatulations again Tom, for putting together a great interfed event. I guess we should come to except by now that not everyone will leave the room happy though.

I already got Holzerman's take, and know where he stands. So unless other judges feel like giving me feedback on why they thought I did well/poorly, then I'm not sure what else to ask/say.

Dan West, TAKE THREE!

Prof's Tourney
Round 1 - 84
Round 2 - 84
Round 3 - 103

My scores

Round 1 - 11th Place (17 points)

This was a very funny RP, LOL funny at some points. I thought it was a great example of misdirection, which is what Prof excels at. One thing I thought brought this down was the lack of meat on the bone, so to speak. I was left wanting more when the RP was over.

Round 2 - 6th Place (22 points)

I liked your parody of the Soprano's finale. Timely and well-played. Once again though, I was left wanting a little more, but not as much as in round 1. Solid piece of writing.

Round 3 - 2nd Place (26 points)

It should be noted that my first place vote went to Ravager this round, so Prof was involved in my top 2 RPs for this round. Anyway, I thought this was a brilliant piece. You made the action come alive, and I loved how this tied into your last two RPs as well. I loved the continuity and closure that your story brought to your entire RP arc. Well done, and congratulations on making the final 8 two years in a row with the same character.

Round 1 other judges
Judge 1 - 25th Place (3 points)
Judge 2 - 2nd Place (26 points)
Judge 3 - 9th Place (19 points)
Judge 4 - 8th Place (20 points)

Round 2
Judge 1 - 13th Place (15 points)
Judge 2 - 9th Place (19 points)
Judge 3 - 15th Place (13 points)
Judge 4 - 13th Place (15 points)

Round 3
Judge 1 - 14th Place (14 points)
Judge 2 - 13th Place (13 points)
Judge 3 - 3rd Place (25 points)
Judge 4 - 5th Place (23 points)

I don't have any gripes with the results or the judging or anything, but...

I was remarkably surprised to find out I scored first in Round 1 (cause to be honest, I though my RP paled in comparison to some other work in that round). What was it that set mine above the rest in terms of points, and where did I come up short in the second and third rounds?

Again, I don't seek answers to please my lack of satisfaction with the results. I enjoyed the results and thought it was a fair outcome. I'm just curious to see what I did right and what I did wrong in the eyes of other handlers/fed managers.

I don't have any complaints about the tournament outcomes. This was my first and I had a lot of fun just being able to take part in something new and different for myself. But if any of the judges want to PM me feedback on my RPs/charcter, I would certainly appreciate the different views on my writings. So, yup, that's all.

Oh, and props to the judges and handlers! I mean, to me at least, this seemed like a pretty tough event to manage, and there were a lot of RPs to judge and such. So I appreciate the judges taking the time, and Holzerman doing another quality write-up.

Didn't realize we could ask, but I'd love to see the judging scores and any comments. Not because I'm upset by my ranking, but just want to see how it all went.

Thanks,

Craig

I would like to see the juding scores for Ravager, if possible. I have no complaints about the outcome, but for sheer curiosity would like to know how things broke down. Thanks.

As others have said, I have no problems with the results but would love to hear the feedback if possible, especially considering two of the three rounds were things I'd never done before.

When time is available, I'd love to hear from each judge, and their perspectives on my work in this tournament through PM if possible.

I wrote as JP Severs, and I'm curious to the reasons for my placement, as well as what placement that was. I had a lot of fun, and with a few tips, I'd gladly participate in the ToC next year, if I find myself still qualifying.

To be honest, as with anyone deep down, I was disappointed not to win, but by no means harboring any unjust rulings. It was a grueling battle that I'm glad I was a part of.

Again, any judges willing to PM with a breakdown of why and how I scored, I would much appreciate it. Thank you.
