What a great series. For Pistons' fans, or those rooting for the Lakers to lose. I think the overall play of Detroit in Game Five, minus the garbage time, was as perfect a game of basketball as I've ever seen played my entire life. That was extraordinary.
Ben Wallace stepped up and let it all go that game. Definitely the best I've ever seen him play.
The MVP award should have gone to the whole team, but that would have been contradictory to the definition of the award. So. Billups deserved it as much as Hamilton, Prince, and the Wallaces. So, congrats to him.
Tayshaun Prince gets my Defensive MVP award for taking on Kobe and not being torched, or even beaten too often. He had help from the rest of the defense, at varying times, but he stuck to Kobe and made him force up bad shots. He contested Kobe's shots as much as I've seen anyone do it.
Guarantees of victory are dumb. I don't care if it's Rasheed Wallace, Kobe Bryant, or Patrick Ewing making them.
Larry Brown should have won more titles than one by now. While in Indiana, he could have if not for a man named Jordan.
The Detroit Pistons are in great shape for next season. I suspect Darko will see more minutes, but they'll probably re-sign Rasheed as well.
Joe Dumars may not have been better on the court than Isiah Thomas....but he damn sure is a better team executive.
I continue to live in purgatory with the rest of the Knicks' fans. 2008 can't come fast enough, in regards to basketball. Then we'll finally be rid of Allan Houston.

TACT: Further proof that 2004 is the year of Larry!
