(FADEIN...

Me.

The World Champion.

I'm wearing a 'Hostess city Hellions' T-shirt. Have to support the firecracker women on wheels, along with dark blue jeans and Chucks.

The NFW World Title belt is over my shoulder.

Tres, Dos, Uno.)

"The most important thing I can say right now is congratulations to Jack Harmen. Jack, you were one of my idols when I was training to become a wrestler; your turn as 'Fakepulse some years back didn't change that."

"Right now you're the top contender, so to speak, for my World Title, and I look forward to defending against you at the next Reloaded."

By the way, the main event of the next Reloaded will be Impulse, defending the NFW World Title against Jack Harmen. Anyone who disputes that is both related to JJ DeVille and highly inbred.

"Many things happened at this past Reloaded that impact the future. Jack, you won the Grand Prix and a shot at my title. DC Stratton, whatever he wants to call himself these days, became the undisputed TV Champion. And Eddie Mayfield put the nail in the coffin of the Windham Clan and reclaimed full ownership of this company.

"Let's start with the Grand Prix."

"Leyenda de Ocho and Jesse Ramey could've easily won that match, but Jack has the experience and the skill to pull it out. Ocho and Ramey could both have easily won the thing."

"You're lucky, Jack. And you're good."

"It's already confirmed: whether I lose the World Title in the next series of NFW Brawl shows or not, you are guaranteed to your shot at the next Reloaded."

But it'll be against me.

"Hollywood on Fire put the New Frontier into a tailspin."

"Eddie Mayfield and Troy Windham told JJ DeVille he has to work for everything. What this told me is that Troy, even in his exile from this industry, is doing his best to keep his name in the lights."

In other words, Troy Windham somehow manages to keep his name in the conversation, despite the fact that, in the New Frontier, Troy is only a little less important than Just Mark's chauffer.

"But it did define everyone's role. JJ DeVille thinks he's a player in this business. Alex Austin thinks he's Castor Strife's avatar."

"I appreciate Eddie Mayfield getting my back as his Champion, just like I hope he will appreciate what I hope to do with this list."

The List.

"For far too long, the World Title in the New Frontier has been secondary. Somehow, despite being a dubious player at best, JJ and his cronies have held center stage under the guise of relevancy, but the irony is that, except for Rook Black, the Hellfire Club's history is one of mostly-failure."

Because they're all failures.

"Here's the thing: I was somewhat battered after beating Castor Strife for this World Title belt. Despite my protests, I was scheduled, following the Cutting Room Floor, for a defense against Legion and a tag match that I had to fight tooth and nail for."

I'd bitch and moan, but if Eddie is willing to back me up as his Champ, then I'll do my part as the face of the New Frontier.

"What matters to me isn't revenge for things that already happened. What matters to me isn't what the Windham Clan accomplished, because as it was just established at Reloaded, the Windham Clan ultimately accomplished nothing."

"What matters to me is the World Championship, and reestablishing it as the premiere title in the sport of professional wrestling."

"But to do that, I need to defend my title. Often. And not just against the named 'best in the world.'"

Because that's me.

"Against everyone."

I stepped aside, to show a whiteboard with the following names on it, with blank numbers following the last one.

1: Castor V. Strife
1a: Jack Harmen
2: Jack Bryant
3: Rook Black
3: Blaine Hollywood
3: DC Stratton
3: JJ DeVille

And so on.

"Number one? Castor Strife. While Alex Austin and the Windham Wannabes love to point out that I didn't pin him for the title, they conveniently forget that, according to the rules of the match, I didn't have to. And they were Castor's rules to begin with. I wonder if they have the same objections to ladder matches, cage matches won on an escape, or battle royals with a title on the line."

Actually, I don't wonder: I know the truth.

Hypocrites.

"But the fact remains, I have never beaten Castor Strife in a traditional match, so, should he ever return to this company, he has but to ask and he'll get a rematch on the next free card."

"One-A? Jack Harmen, obviously. The contract is out and signed for Reloaded Sixteen, whether I'm still holding the belt or not."

"Jack Bryant sits at number two - like Castor, he just has to claim his shot. He worked too long and too hard as the TV Champion to not be given the opportunity to move up."

"And number three... is the Hellfire Club."

"Assuming any of them are brave enough to step up."

"For that matter... who else in the New Frontier wants to step up? Now's your chance."

Smirk.

"But I have conditions."

"I first came to this company under El Presidente Mayfield and Generalissmo Miles as part of a Wrestling Revolucion to get away from the ridiculous antics of Ultratitle Season 2, drug - addled walking disasters such as Joe the Anticlimax and wannabe takeovers like the Windham Wannabes."

"They wanted wrestling, which is exactly what I provided."

"Your World Championship match will be based on pinfalls, submissions, countouts with a 20 count and disqualifications with a 5 count. However many falls you want, be it one, two, or most in an hour. Or most in two hours."

"I'm flexible."

"And the Windham Wannabes should focus on their own titles, because this offer is not available to anyone currently holding another Singles Title here in the New Frontier."

Which means Nova could technically be next.

"This is the Marathon Era... and it's going to be the greatest era in the history of this company."

"Things are very clear from the Eye of the Storm."

OOC: So here's where you sign up. It's first come, first defended, with the exception of the existing list.

SIGNED - RELOADED 16: Jack Harmen

1: Castor V. Strife

2: Jack Bryant
3: Rook Black - Currently Ineligible - Triple Crown Champion
3: Blaine Hollywood
3: Dorchester Stratton - Currently Ineligible - TV Champion
3: JJ DeVille

* Castor V. Strife is permanently the number one contender until such time as he cashes in his return match.
** Jack Bryant is listed at #2 as Champion's Choice - the man on the active roster that Impulse currently considers most deserving based purely on wrestling merit.
*** The Hellfire Club is collectively listed as #3 even though at the moment, only Blaine Hollywood and JJ DeVille are eligible to cash in for the next card at any time.
