Before we get into our next big tournament, I'm proud to announce that TEAM will be holding a special pay-per-view event: TEAM Super Show I: When Champions Collide.
It was no coincidence that Jess Chapel handed D! a Championship belt instead of a trophy for winning the Tournament of Champions. It was announced today why; the Champion of Champions title will be an actively defended title. Eligibility for being able to challenge for the title is two-fold.
a) Challengers must either hold any kind of Championship in their home fed or interfed, or they must be the last holder of their home fed's World Championship or equivalent title before the current holder. (special dispensations can be made in special occasions for this rule)
and
b) Challengers must be in good standing with TEAM (ie, they can't have no-shown a TEAM event without a good excuse in the year prior to their CoC shot... this rule is ironclad).
By winning the ToC, D! has clinched an automatic spot in the 2007 Tournament of Champions. However, he can lose the CoC in TEAM sanctioned events. The first such event shall be the Super Show.
TSS1 will be held July 16th at the Fleet Center in Boston. The main event of this first Super Show shall be:
TEAM Champion of Champions Match
D! (c) vs. Karl "The Dragon" Brown
Brown was given the first shot at the title because of his win in the 2005 TEAM Invitational Tournament. Although he no-showed the ToC, he gave valid and timely reason for his no-show. Mr. Amazing!, due to his runner-up status in the ToC, has been assured the second shot at the Champion of Champions title.
As for other matches for the Super Show, they will be OPEN CHALLENGE format. I will post a challenge thread for people to call their opponents out and accept challenges. Hopefully, we'll get three to four other matches to support the huge main event we have scheduled.
The card will be finalized on July 2nd and RP threads will be posted immediately here in these TEAM forums.
