[Cue up "Down," STP. Fade into a metallic looking logo that reads the word "EPICENTER" in all caps on a fiery background.
Cut to: Adam Benjamin delivering the Shining Wizard from the top on Karl Brown.
Cut to: Hida Yakamo giving Andy Gilkison the HIDADRIVER~! {Oh the humanity}
Cut to: Timmy Windham gnawing on IrishRed's forehead.
Cut to: James Irish with Dan Ryan in the Fredonia Cloverleaf.
Cut to: WildStar delivering the Five Star Frogsplash on an anonymous victim.

Cut to: The Epicenter logo once more, fading into Tom Holzerman and Steve Murray at the Epicenter desk.]

TH: I'm Tom Holzerman.

SM: And I'm Steve Murray.

TH: And welcome to Epicenter.

[Cut to a shot of Holzerman with a Sergeant/James Irish graphic inset.]

TH: After the first wave of first round matches in the TEAM Invitational Tournament, everyone was ready to crown Irish Red and Timmy Windham as the match of the round. However, another Irish-man and his opponent had something to say about that.

[Cut to the CSWA Auditorium ring.]

TH V/O: We start out with a friendly handshake, good to see the sportsman ship rear it's non-ugly head, and we're off.

[Cut to a collar and elbow tie up.]

TH V/O: This was a back-and-forth match up throughout most of the affair. As things get started, James Irish hits an arm drag out of a reversal, but moments later, Irish would have one of his own moves reversed...

[Cut to the two wrestlers looking to grapple.]

TH V/O: But here, as James lunges in for a grapple, Sergeant fakes him out and the textbook atomic drop. Man, this match was a see-saw for the most part.

[Cut to Irish with Sergeant in a reverse facelock.]

TH V/O: James here with one of his many variations on the DDT. You know, this guy can probably hit a DDT in his sleep.

[Cut to Sergeant with Irish in a front facelock.]

TH V/O: And here we have Sarge giving James a taste of his own medicine... big DDT.

[Cut to James with Sergeant in the front double underhook.]

TH V/O: And James comes right back with the Headbangers' Ball here, man, I wonder how he takes care of his own head on that.

[Cut to Sergeant with the advantage.]

TH V/O: But Sarge fires back, shades of Curt Hennig here with that Perfectplex.

[Cut to Sergeant in the ropes.]

TH V/O: And now James Irish's turn to channel a dead wrestler. James Irish jumping on a prone Sarge here.

[Cut to James with Sergeant in a full nelson.]

TH V/O: James in control, here with a dragon suplex. But things would get ugly for James a little later on.

[Cut to James setting Sergeant up for the Air Check.]

TH V/O: Right as he thinks he's got the Sarge for the Air Check... he doesn't. Irish turns around, and, HELLO MELVIN, standing sidekick.

[Cut to the Sergeant over a prone James Irish.]

TH V/O: And just like that, Sarge is in control. Look at him do amateur plastic surgery on James' face with those knee drops.

[Cut to Sarge running the ropes.]

TH V/O: And here with the big huge lariat!

[Cut to Sarge with James in position for a reverse DDT.]

TH V/O: But things would get a bit ugly for Sarge at the end. He's going for what most think is his finisher, the Corrective Training, a reverse DDT into a choke, but James elbows his way out of it and then slyly hits him with the Air Check, but the pinfall attempt comes up short, James doesn't know what to do.

[Cut to James on the top rope.]

TH V/O: Except go straight to the top. Irish explodes with the Funk Numbah 49, and James Irish pulls this one out.

[Cut back to the studio, with a Andy Gilkison/Question Mark graphic with Gilkison/Shiek Nasty in the inset.]

TH: James' opponent was decided even before the proceedings in Greensboro got underway. Shiek Nasty never showed up to the arena and has gone AWOL. He's already lost his paycheck for the event, and Andrew Gilkison, his opponent for the proceedings got an automatic bye. Gilkie wasn't very happy, from what our sources heard, but he'll take the win.

Now, let's welcome Squiggy Jackson to the studio to talk about the Irish/Sergeant match. Squigy.

[Cut to a shot of both Holzerman and Jackson at the TEAM desk.]

TH: Now Squiggy, was this the match of the year like some folks are saying so far?

SJ: Match of the first round, yes. Match of the tournament, that will remain to be seen. But match of the year? We've seen Manson/Southern, Ryan/Manson, Ryan/Felix Red, Miles/Mayfield, Black/Almasy and Ryan/Mayfield in our sister fed here on ESEN, NFW for starters I could go on if we mentioned A1E, EPW and other feds on the circuit.

TH: Okay, well-said. Why do you think this was such a good match, seeing that it was the Sergeant's first match ever?

SJ: Well, I think it's because he's that good. James wasn't overlooking him, it's just Sarge could very well end up being the rookie of the year in any fed.

TH: Alright, do you think that this is a sign that James is in trouble for the next round?

SJ: Oh no, I actually think it's the complete opposite. James got a really good workout and is in top tournament shape. Andrew Gilkison, however, hasn't. His opponent flaked out on him. You could say that he's fresher, but then again it's not like either guy isn't active in A1E right now. Honestly, James weathered the storm, and I think he's much better for it.

TH: Alright, thanks a lot Squiggy, now let's take it to Steve Murray for some more Greensboro bracket action.

[Cut to Steve Murray alone at the TEAM desk with a Dan Ryan/John Adams graphic inset.]

SM: The Clash of the Titans. That's what this match was being billed as. The Ego Buster and the Prophet, two cerebral big guys who can wrestle as well as they can HULK SMASH.

[Cut back to the Greensboro ring.]

SM V/O: Of course though it didn't turn out that way. This was all Ryan. Here, we see Ryan dominating the test of strength. I mean, it's not even close.

[Cut to Adams running the ropes.]

SM V/O: And Ryan is dominating, coming in with the knee lift to a running Adams, and the Prophet could not have foreseen getting drilled with knees to the head. Ryan using his knees a lot here.

[Cut to Ryan with Adams in position for the Humility Bomb.]

SM V/O: Ryan had a little trouble here, he couldn't get Adams up for his patent Humility Bomb. As you see, a little trouble getting him up, and then Adams flips him over with a back body drop. Adams up and tries to get Ryan with a chokeslam, but Ryan bats Adams' hand away, kick to the gut, and NOW he gets him for the Humility Bomb. Impressive feat, that's 330 pounds of Prophet there. Dan Ryan advances.

[Cut to an action shot of Beau Michaels and Cameron Cruise, cue up Led Zeppelin, "No Quarter."]

SM V/O: Coming up on Epicenter, Bean and Cammy, rekindling acquaintances. Beau won the first two, can he win the third? That and more Calgary action when we get back.

[Cut to a commercial for Charmin with the animated bears.]

[Cut back to the studio, Steve Murray at the desk with a Beau Michaels/Cameron Cruise graphic inset.]

SM: Well, Beau Michaels claimed that Cameron Cruise fathered a child of his. Of course, we don't know how, since Beau's a guy. And then he went on to claim that there was in fact MEAT in TEAM. Interesting. Let's get to the action in Calgary, shall we?

[Cut to th Saddledome.]

SM V/O: Cameron Cruise got it started early, raining punches down on Beau Michaels, probably revenge for the childbearing accusations.

[Cut to Cameron with Beau in a butterfly.]

SM V/O: Double underhook here, and Cameron Cruise with the pretty butterfly suplex. It wasn't all Cruise early. Beau Michaels would mount some offense.

[Cut to Michaels with a wobbly standing Cruise.]

SM V/O: Beau puts his arm underneath Cruise's armpit, a position he likes, probably, and the bisexual star hits a northern lights suplex, but to no avail.

[Cut to Michaels with Cruise in an abdominal stretch.]

SM V/O: And here with the abdominal stretch, and with the thrusting motion into Cruise's backside. I think that was more for psychological effect on The Crippler.

[Cut to Cruise running the ropes.]

SM V/O: Things would start to go a bit awry for Michaels here, after an Irish whip into a clothesline that he fans on. Cruise comes back and delivers a stiff lariat of his own.

[Cut to Cruise stomping away on Michaels.]

SM V/O: And then Cammy delivering boots to Michaels. A lover scorned, or a guy who's just trying to get his good name cleared up.

[Cut to Cruise setting Michaels up for the Shipwreck.]

SM V/O: And now to the end of the match, where Cruise looks to have this thing locked up. He lifts Michaels over his shoulder for the Shipwreck piledriver, but Michaels shifts his weight and reverses it so that Cruise is on his shoulder for an Emerald Fusion piledriver. He plants Cruise with his own finisher, and the former EPW I-C Champion is stunned in the closing seconds of the match.

[Cut to Holzerman and a graphic that has Promo, Mr. Entertainment, Larry Tact and Phenomenal Frankie Scott and is titled "First Round close calls."]

TH: The Calgary regional was described as being wide-open and unpredictable. Most of the first round matchups, hell, all four of them, were up in the air. The experts divided on them. Even the Vegas favorites were shaky bets according to all the website pundits. Those chaotic leanings made themselves quite clear in these next two matches.

[Cut to the Saddledome ring.]

TH V/O: First up, Promo and Mr. Entertainment, and Mr. E had Promo on his heels early, backing the former UXW Champion into the corner.

[Cut to Mr. E running to Promo, double axehandle running.]

TH V/O: But Promo turns the tables, kick to the midsection and raining punches.

[Cut to Promo on the second rope, Mr. E reeling.]

TH V/O: Promo showing why he was the the MBE Champion, flying clothesline from the second.

[Cut to Mr. E on the turnbuckles.]

TH V/O: But Mr. E had some good aerial moves too. Check out the split-legged moonsault. Pretty.

[Cut to Promo reeling back after the stun gun.]

TH V/O: This match was all Mr. E at the end though. Stun gun, German... THAT my friends, is Entertainment. Mr. E wins.

[Cut to the Calgary ring again, Tact grappling Frankie Scott.]

TH V/O: Onto former NEW Champ Larry Tact against Phenomenal Frankie Scott. Collar and elbow here that Tact just disrupts with a knee lift and takes advantage with a swinging neckbreaker. Tact on top early.

[Cut to Tact wtih Scott in the full nelson.]

TH V/O: Then with the full nelson slam here. Tact in control, but not for long after that.

[Cut to Tact setting up for the Humbling, a Rock Bottom type move.]

TH V/O: Tact going for the kill with The Humbling, but before he can execute, Scott with an elbow to the head. The former NthWA I-C Champ would take over here.

[Cut to Tact running the ropes.]

TH V/O: Tact just runs into this Arn Anderson-quality spinebuster.

[Cut to Scott with Tact in a single crab.]

TH V/O: Scott with that single leg crab cinched in, and Tact gets out of it only because he's near the ropes.

[Cut to Scott with Tact over his shoulder.]

TH V/O: And to end the match, Scott finishes Tact with the Phenom Drop, that cradle piledriver he loves to use to finish matches with. Frankie Scott advances with the mild upset.

[Cut to Adam Benjamin and Rocko Daymon locking up, cue up Led Zeppelin, "No Quarter."]

TH V/O: Upset yet? Hehe, get it? See what I did there? Well anyway, when we come back we'll get to the final two first round highlights, plus we'll preview the second round matches. Stay right there. Epicenter will return.

[Cut to a commercial for a product for women who feel 'not so fresh' down there.]

[We're back at the studio, Tom Holzerman at the desk with a Adam Benjamin/Rocko Daymon graphic inset.]

TH: Adam Benjamin has been on one crazy ride the last few weeks. Losing to John Doe in his second EUWC match, but then rebounding nicely to the tune of the EPW Television Championship. His opponent is neither a stranger to EUWC or gold. Rocko Daymon is the feds I-C Champion. What would happen when these two got together in Greensboro though? Madness, madness I say.

[Cut to the CSWA Auditorium.]

TH V/O: Benjamin gets an advantage early with the knee to the gut, whip and lariat.

[Cut to Daymon running the ropes.]

TH V/O: Daymon would turn the tides quickly, flying forearm, Benjamin down to the canvas.

[Cut to Benjamin with Daymon in a reverse half nelson.]

TH V/O: Adam Benjamin showing why he's considered one of the best technicians though. This was another see-saw. Look at this move, half-nelson belly to belly and it doesn't get anymore fluid than that.

[Cut to Daymon kicking Benjamin in the midsection.]

TH V/O: But unlike at Black Dawn, this just wouldn't be Big Daddy English's night. Kick to the gut, Brain Rocker Redux, and Rocko Daymon moves on. Steve?

[Cut to Steve Murray, WildStar/Logan Caine inset.]

SM: In the wily Canadian north, WildStar was one of those who was pegged for an upset. He was rusty and in training mode. Logan Caine is a hungry newcomer to the FW scene. But then again, he's not quite five stars.

[Cut to the Saddledome.]

SM V/O: Caine took advantage of some of WildStar's rust early. Like right here with the belly-to-belly suplex.

[Cut to Caine with WildStar in the gutwrench.]

SM V/O: And here with the gutwrench suplex.

[Cut to WildStar running the ropes, Caine ducking early for the back body drop.]

SM V/O: But it would be Caine's mistake here trumping Star's ring rust. WildStar's brakes still work well, and he uses them to stop short and then kick Caine in the face.

[Cut to WildStar with Caine in a standing headscissors.]

SM V/O: Here, WildStar gets old school with the Memphis piledriver.

[Cut to Star on the top rope.]

SM V/O: And here he goes new school and five star to boot... FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH right here, and WildStar will advance to face Beau Michaels in the second round.

[Cut to Steve Murray and Tom Holzerman at the desk.]

TH: And speaking of those second round matchups, it's time for us to PREVIEW~!

[Cut to Hida Yakamo, standing in the ring.]

TH V/O: In Philadelphia, Hida Yakamo battles IrishRed. Now, Hida easily dispatched of Saint, and has that awesome wrestling pedigree, due to his Yakamo family pedigree and of course, his two MBE Championships.

[Cut to Red.]

TH V/O: And Red might be a little worse for wear after taking that beating from Timmah~! Windham before putting him away. But there's no doubting Red is one of the hottest stars in A1E right now, leading the MBE Invasion and just kicking ass and taking names.

[Cut to Sensational Steven Shane.]

SM V/O: But while that second round Philly match is a cotnrast in styles, Steven Shane and Karl Brown will be a technical masterpiece. Both had little trouble in the first round and both have had EPW success. Steven Shane over his longtime rival Ken Cloverleaf...

[Cut to Karl Brown.]

SM V/O: ...and Karl over Jericoholic Anonymous to take home the EPW I-C Title. Should be a dandy.

[Cut to WildStar.]

SM V/O: Now onto Calgary, where we get another match of technically sound stars. WildStar has the five-star pedigree...

[Cut to Beau Michaels.]

SM V/O: But can he match Michaels' eccentricity and his recent streak of hotness? That is, hotness in the ring.

[Cut to Mr. Entertainment.]

TH V/O: Two guys who some didn't expect to be here are in the other Calgary semi. Mr. Entertainment, fresh off of a huge win over Promo and a huge near-win over MWG in NEW, is looking pretty good right now. But his relative inexperience may cost him against...

[Cut to Frankie Scott.]

TH V/O: Against a vet like Scott, even if he's been out of the game for a few years.

[Cut to Dan Ryan.]

TH V/O: Now onto Greensboro, where we get a very intriguing match in Dan Ryan and Rocko Daymon. Two very accomplished stars. Ryan has done nearly everything this year, MBE Cup, NFW East undefeated.

[Cut to Rocko Daymon.]

TH V/O: But if anyone can upset him, it's Daymon. He's a pretty solid star, and he's won gold wherever he gone.

[Cut to Andy Gilkison.]

SM V/O: These two guys know a little something about each other. Andy Gilkison is an A1E and MBE mainstay.

[Cut to James Irish]

SM V/O: But so's James Irish. Who has the advantage? Could it be the fresher Andy or the less rusty James? Your guess, good as mine.

[Cut to Boogie Smallz.]

SM V/O: St. Louis, and we have a barnburner in this first match. Boogie Smallz had trouble dispatching WildChild, but he's also healthy.

[Cut to Victor Molotov.]

SM V/O: Whereas this is only Victor Molotov's second match back from major back surgery. Yet, he easily dismissed Mighty Impala.

[Cut to Beast.]

TH V/O: On paper, this last match is a virtual bye. Beast is en fuego right now.

[Cut to Joe Average.]

TH V/O: But then again, Ken Cloverleaf was supposed to be getting the virtual bye facing this scrapper, Joe Average, always finding a way to win.

[Cut to WildStar's FIVE STAR Frogsplash, cue up Led Zeppelin, "No Quarter."]

SM V/O: Up next, our Top Moves. Did this frogsplash make it? You'll find out when we wrap up Epicenter after this break.

[Cue up a commercial for Mazda. Zoom Zoom Zoom. Yeah I hate 'em too, but they pay the bills.]

[Back to the studio. Tom and Steve. Take it away.]

TH: Well, this second wave produced some pretty eye-popping, titillating moves.

SM: Yeah, a lot of great moments, but what made our Top Moves?

[Cut to Mr. E/Promo.]

TH V/O: At number five, we have Mr. Entertainment going all split-leg on us with this moonsault. He'd win his match against Promo, and look damn good doing it.

[Cut to Benjamin/Daymon.]

SM V/O: At number four, Adam Benjamin may have lost, but he went down fighting, mainly to the tune of this sweet inverted half-nelsonplex. Gotta love the nutty head dropping, but he'd come up a bit short.

[Cut to Star/Caine.]

TH V/O: And now, the wily WildStar takes flight, FIVE STARS on that splash, and he gets the mad air. Seriously folks, after ten plus in the game, he's still got it.

[Cut to Irish/Sergeant.]

SM V/O: From our match of the night, we get number two. James Irish escaping some Corrective Training here and slickly getting in an Air Check. This is why he's one of A1E's best, folks.

[Cut to Cruise/Michaels.]

TH V/O: And finally, number one, in Calgary... Alberta... Canada...

SM V/O: I knew that was gonna pop up somehow. Nerd.

TH V/O: I may be a nerd, but Cammy Cruise got REVERS'D on that Shipwreck. Michaels steals the finisher and the match.

[Cut back to the studio.]

SM: This first round has been fun, but the second round promises better.

TH: And in our Last Word, we just wanna tell you that even though they've been in the same two feds for the last two years, James Irish and Andrew Gilkison have NEVER met in a singles match. They did meet in a tag match over the summer in A1E, but five years and no singles mojo. That's a bit odd.

SM: They will meet in the second round though in Greensboro.

TH: And that promises to be a good match. But until then, this is Tom Holzerman and Steve Murray, signing off.

[Fade.]
