Just wondering after seeing how things are currently, it seems that those that were in this last time knows what to expect and do, and those that weren't, were just first round fodder.

Figure it'd help the others so they don't get screwed over as the first round continues.

later.

I do see Spike's point there as coming from an independant view with judging experience that while neither rp was spectacular, Spike showed character and personality while Idol just seemed to do a basic shoot.

My money would have been safely on Spike and yet I am surprised.

Yeah, I want to point out I'm not crying about it or anything ( I already told people before that I was just doing this for fun, after being nearly a decade since real rp'ing ). But seemed a good time to bring this up and find out for others future reference.

I'd be more than happy to let anyone who wants to know why I decided the way I did in private. I can't speak for any of the other judges though, so you'll have to ask them.

As for what you have to do... there is no right answer.

I felt you put up one hell of a fight Evil James. Like I said in my PM, I didn't envy the judges for having to pick a winner. If you want a rematch at the next Supershow I'd be more than happy to oblige.

Thanks for the challenge and good luck in the future.

Why is it that nearly every time Holzerman runs a tournament, someone has to open their mouth in public about why the judges voted the way they did or why results were the way they were?

Why is the sky blue? Why are some roses red and other roses pink (among other colors)?

It just happens. I don't think anybody is making an especially big deal about it.

Spike's referencing people getting "screwed over" in round one so, yeah.

I mean, shoot Tom a PM if there are questions. Not that hard to do.

Yeah, I think "screwed over" is a little harsh. Sometimes we think we've got something wrapped up, but the thing about e-fedding is that it is very subjective. You just have to go out there and write it and hope somebody recognizes that you've put much better quality forth than the other guy. There are times when it can be a head scratcher, and I have been/am there, lol, but at the end of the day you've just got to chalk it up to the judges having a different perspective.

If you change to adapt to these particular judges, you'll just fail to write to the style of the next. In the end you just have to try and stay true to the character and hope people respect it!

I'd venture a guess as to say it's based on enjoyment level. And, like Josh said, it's subjective and varies from person to person.

It was a simple queston. As for 'screwed over' reference, just seemed the best choice of words. If it had just been me that thought the way I do on this, I wouldn't have said anything; however others spoke to me outside the forum, and by some replies here, it is clear.

But yeah... still no answer Evil James, lol.

If I'm not mistaken, much of the overall judgment is based on a panel of judges, of which includes Holz and maybe three or four others. I'm not sure how they individually grade, which is why he said you could always check up with them, but I'm pretty sure that's how winners are decided.

Same thing is happening here. Had more than one person tell me the same thing as well.

And I was observant for once. That scares me. :p

I read the matches I was assigned to and judged it how I would judge a match if I were running a fed myself. I picked my winners and that's that. Sorry if you feel slighted.

Peace,
Justin

I wouldn't complain if I lose unfairly on two counts.

1. Truthfully, I know I really don't have a chance to win this thing anyway.

2. I get screwed over a lot anyway and then I realize...it's just a game. Losing this thing won't make me die or anything. If the judge(s) like my opponent's rp more, what can I do? He succeeded, I didn't. No amount of complaining can change that anyway.

That's why I usually just keep my mouth shut. No offense to anyone who sees it is a big deal and needs to. That case, go get 'em!
