First up, introductions. Hi! I'm Aaron! I haven't been into efedding in years. I spent a lot of time in SCCW back in the day (first as Sean Sterling, then as Victor Ambrose), but ended up stepping down due to life happening and a lack of interest in the roleplaying-based format. Either way, long story short, I recently got the itch to give this whole thing another go, half out of a genuine need to write and half out of a recently reinvigorated interest in wrestling as a whole. So, here we go. Also, full disclosure, I applied to LoC with this character as well and am currently in the application process there. I know efedding circles are small and I don't want this to be seen as a sleight of some sort. I just really want to write and fully intend on playing in both feds, that's all. If this is somehow a problem, it's no big deal and I'm not going to make a big kerfuffle about it.
(Also, just to note, I know you guys don't have any openings right now.That's totally fine. I considered applying as a tag team, but that's not something I've done before and I don't think it's a great idea to try to get back into this hobby with completely uncharted territory that I could very possibly suck at. I would, however, love some feedback and possibly future consideration.)

How did you find DEFIANCE? FW. This is the first place I visited when I decided I wanted to get back into the hobby.
Are you willing to write matches? Yes!However, as a warning, it's never been my forte and I'm a bit rusty to boot. I will, however, be willing to work to make any matches I write as interesting as possible.

I figured it was a good idea to just write up some fresh samples. I put together a quick segment and match along with a very short storyline under the idea that Pop is leaving the indie company he's always wrestled in (Williamsburg Wrestling Association) for Defiance. This is in no way representative of his actual storyline coming into the company and is entirely just to give an idea of how I write. Enjoy!

Ring Name: "Post-Modern"Elias Pop
Nicknames: El-P, The Icon of Irony, The King of Nonconformity,and That Guy With the Stupid Mustache
Height: 5'8”

Hailing From: Williamsburg,Brooklyn
Alignment: Heel.But seriously, he's not so much nefarious as he isinsufferable.
Gimmick: Simply put? Total fucking hipster. Seriously, this is the type of guy to bring out vintage vinyls as weapons in a hardcore match. He'll ride out to the ring on a fixie bike AND build his own tables out of reclaimed wood to drop people through. Personality speaking, Elias is well meaning, but ultimately too annoying and too ego-centric to be likable. He thinks that he genuinely knows better than the general populace and wants to provide the fans with something authentic,something real, something conceptually sound and artistically admirable. Problem is, he comes off like a pretentious jackass(which, in all fairness, he is).
Wrestling Style: Culturally Appropriated Lucha Libre. Long story short, Elias grew up looking up to the cruiserweight high flyers, your Rey Mysterios and your Juventud Guerreras. Not only did it have the wow factor that seemed to be missing in your typical wrestling match, but it also seemed like something 'new' and so far removed from his own culture as a middle-class Jew growing up in one of the most heavily gentrified New York neighborhoods. Thus, when he began to train, he did his best to be a luchador. The problems with this, however, wereabundantly clear. 1) No luchador would take a pasty white kid who couldn't shut up about Radiohead seriously. 2) He refused to wear a mask as he deemed it 'cultural appropriation'. 3) Everything about this love of lucha libre growing up was a lie and the entire idea to go with that style was an ironic decision based entirely off his first viewing of the Jack Black comedy romp 'Nacho Libre'. Thus, he faked it, Americanizing the entire style to suit his own skill.
Three Weaknesses:
1) In his quest to be 'authentic' and 'real', Elias has managed to paint himself as a pretentious asshat. Living in the bubble of Williamsburg, he often forgets that nobody really gives a shit about his music recommendations or that he knows more books than they do or that he gave a back rub to Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. His inability to keep his mouth shut and his opinion to himself can often lead to misunderstandings, confrontations, and even fistfights.
2) He's spent most of his life living off of a trust fund. He tries to keep this secret close to his chest at all times, worried that it will somehow lower his 'authenticity' and 'aesthetic'. As a result, Elias doesn't know the value of a dollar and often reacts with anger when someone brings up his upbringing. This sore spot often leads to an easily bruised ego as it puts the one thing he actually cares about in jeopardy: his coolness.
3) It's highly likely that he sees wrestling as an art project, an ironic pastime, a way to differentiate himself from the masses, or all of the above. His commitment to the sport, despite his talent, is questionable at best. This indifference can often times lead to him missing matches due to finding something better to do, showing up under the influence, and worst of all, blaming everyone but himself for not holding up to his end of the deal.
4) And as a bonus, he isn't traditionally strong. He's not going to be doing much heavy lifting or anything he deems too hard. Fucking millenials, right?
Three Strengths:
1) Despite his personal failings, there is no denying that Elias is one hell of a wrestler. He's almost always the fastest person in the ring, capable of dodging incoming attacks and fly from literally one side of the ring to the other when he jumps off the top rope. What he lacks in strength he more than makes up for with high impact, precise, agile moves.
2) Like most successful hipsters, Elias knows social media and he knows how to market himself. While this doesn't necessarily make people like him, he knows how to get ahead when he wants to get ahead without jeopardizing his own terms, especially when going against those terms would hurt his authenticity or cause him to be viewed as a sellout by his peers.
3) Thanks in part to his willingness to get into a debate with anybody about anything and his damn near savant level knowledge of obscure topics, Elias can often talk circles around people. This pairs well with his inability to shut up. He often lays in bed, going over made up scenarios in his head and compiles a stockpile of verbal ammunition, making it near impossible to leave him at a loss for words.
