Name: Steve

Email Address: twolitersteve@gmail.com

Best Way to Contact You: PM or email

eWrestling Experience: I started in roleplay feds around 1998, then went mostly angle in 2002 and 2003. I'm mainly known for handling the tag team Civil Disobedience in OSW at that time. Had another short run with them in PRIME in 2005 which was cut short by me having to work on my thesis. Came back a few years ago for a go in PTC's GTT tournament. Had originally planned to handle this new team in PRIME at the time, but PRIME's tag division was closed about a month after I debuted.

How did you find Defiance? I've been getting back into pro wrestling recently since the launch of the WWE network and I was thinking it would be fun to join an angle fed again. Nothing against RP feds, but match writing and promos have always been the most fun part for me, and in my past couple of go-arounds I always found them taking a back seat after having to write 5,000 to 10,000 word RPs to stay competitive.

I spent about two hours of searching for “ewrestling angle feds” in Google and looking through a few dozen pages of feds with real wrestler pic bases. After that was a relief to find a fed with a solid roster and an emphasis on wrestling like Defiance.

Wrestler(s) Information

Tag team name: Osaka Street Cutters

Hailing From: Osaka, Japan

Gimmick: Managed by the brash Kaz Araki, Mach Hawke and Demon Azuma are looking to show the strength of puroresu to the mainstream Western wrestling fans.

Kaz Araki is the diminutive grandson of the legendary Japanese pro wrestler Giant Araki. Despite a life in elite private schools, he has only ever wanted to be a pro wrestler. However at 5'7, 150 pounds he is hardly the spitting image of his grandfather, and being a general fuck-up has done little to bolster his profile. Forbidden from participating in the family's home federation, he is on voluntary exile overseas to prove to his family he can cut it in the business.

Trevor “Mach” Hawke made a name for himself in the early 2000's in the Old School Wrestling promotion, winning multiple tag championships with his partner Seth Masters. Once his partner was injured, however, he felt promoters never allowed his career to get off the ground due to his size and his being pigeonholed as a tag wrestler. Bitter and frustrated, he left for Japan, where he became a bonafide star. Now he is coming back to prove to himself he can make it to the top in his homeland.

The only thing that Mamoru “Demon” Azuma is looking to prove is that his hand is harder than your face and he'll look to thoroughly test this hypothesis at any and all opportunities.

Would be open to teaming with another roster member to form a trios team or could add Araki to the team to form one myself.

Alignment : Heel

Wrestler 1
Ring Name: Mach Hawke
Height: 5'11
Weight: 224 lbs.
35 years old

Wrestling Style: Predominantly Japanese junior heavyweight style. Known for his high-flying style earlier in his career, he has been shifting to a more ground-based, technical style for the past few years. He still works a very fast-paced match, but takes a great deal less risks than before.

Three Weaknesses: Size – He loses a few moves, including potentially his finisher, if his opponent is too big for him to lift.
Bump machine – Opponents will look to focus on Hawke over Azuma, as he is the less immediately dangerous member of the duo, in addition to being smaller and thus easier to toss around.
Neck injury history – Though it's since completely recovered, he has been a bit gunshy since nearly breaking his neck on a botched shooting star press in 2012, wrestling more conservatively.

Three Strengths: Technician – He will generally look to focus on the opponent's neck during the match to set them up for his finisher, though if they are injured mid-match he will not hesitate to exploit the weakness, even using moves outside his usual moveset.
Endurance – Even the most fast-paced wrestler is going to have a hard time tiring him out in the ring. He will look to take advantage of this by going for frequent pinfall attempts, running his opponents around the ring, and rarely giving them a break mid-match.
Tag team specialist – due to spending most of his career in the division, he knows all the tricks and is proficient at cutting off the ring, taking advantage of double team opportunities, getting blind tags, etc.

MOVESET

Ten regular moveset moves:

1) Straitjacket northern lights suplex
2) Running leaping tornado DDT
3) Elevated single leg crab (with knee to back of the neck)
4) Flipping neckbreaker
5) Belly to belly suplex off the ropes
6) Lungbuster
7) Snap suplex
8) Snapmare to dropkick to the back of the head
9) Rolling neck snap
10) Lightning quick legdrops (to throat or to back of the neck)

2-5 trademark moves:

1) Mach Bomb (Liger Bomb)
2) ¾ Facelock Russian leg sweep
3) Second rope rocker dropper
4) Tiger suplex

1 Finishing Move: Mach Driver (Fisherman driver)

1 "MDK" (murderdeathkill) Finishing Move: Shooting Star Press (former finisher)

Wrestler 2
Ring Name: Demon Azuma
Height: 6'2
Weight: 247 lbs.
41 years old

Wrestling Style: Strong style, with a heavy judo base. Mostly brawling and hurting people, though.

Three Weaknesses: Intensity – He fights all out, even when hurt, even when the numbers are against him. Doesn't know when to back down or how to pick his fights.
Age – At 41 years old, works a slow, plodding match. Younger wrestlers will run rings around him. If forced to work a fast-paced contest, could get tired out late match.
Knee injury – He wears a knee brace in the ring, providing an easy target for any opponent.

Three Strengths: Intensity – He lives to fight and fights to live, personal well-being be damned. Even if he loses the match, someone's getting hurt. Call-the-ambulance level hurt.
High pain tolerance - The kind of guy who smiles after getting punched in the face. Not to say he's unstoppable, but you're going to have to knock him out or choke the breath out of his lungs.
Well-rounded – Spent more time brawling with fellow students than attending class growing up. Later practiced judo extensively, before being drafted into a puroresu dojo. Striking, wrestling, submissions. It will be the rare opponent who comes at him with a style he's not equipped to deal with.

MOVESET

Ten regular moveset moves:

1) Side belly to belly suplex
2) Overhead release belly to belly suplex
3) Release German suplex
4) Gutbuster
5) Suicide dive
6) Hard short arm clothesline
7) Stiff crossfaces from back mount
8) Standing or diving headbutts
9) Judo influenced submission game (armbars and chokes)
10) Judo trips and throws

2-5 trademark moves:

1) Step-up enzuigiri
2) Blue Thunder powerbomb
3) Backdrop driver
4) Release uranage (typically as a reversal)

1 Finishing Move: Rolling brainbuster series (up to three in a row, could also transition to a guillotine choke after two)

1 "MDK" (murderdeathkill) Finishing Move: Running burning hammer

Writing Sample

Here's a promo I wrote when I was starting to run this team in PRIME, which maybe gives a good idea of where they're coming from and what their motivations are. I changed it around a bit to match the Defiance writing style.

[We cut in to see the Osaka Street Cutters standing backstage with their manager, Kaz Araki, who is currently wearing a shit-eating grin. Azuma is sporting his usual sneer, while Hawke looks tired, but satisfied after the events that transpired earlier. The lighting is kind of dark, casting a ominous pall over the scene.]

Kaz:
So why did we do it? It's the question I'm sure is on everyone's minds. Why did we have to jump Hessian after the match? Why did we join forces with Sloan, Elise, and Sutherland?

[He flashes a knowing smile.]

Kaz:
Well, I'll tell you why. It's all about opportunity. It's about making a statement. That the Cutters are the real deal. That we're not here to fuck around. That anyone, at any time, for any reason can get taken out by us, just like that. (finger snap) Just like Hessian.

[He takes off his sunglasses and stares straight into the camera, smile disappearing.]

Kaz:
For too long Japanese wrestlers have been imported by the American promotions and misused. Exploited. Treated like sideshows, dressed up like samurai...ninja...sumo wrestlers. The most lazy, cliché gimmicks you can think of. As if they were circus clowns performing for children. Well no more. Those days are over.

[A sneer forms, nostrils flaring.]

Kaz:
Time and time again, I remember seeing American promoters pull in a hot prospect from Japan, junior heavyweight champions, hell, even legends of the sport, and what do they with them? Embarrass them. Stick them in opening matches, if they're lucky. Or else feed them to their giants, men two or three times their body weight, and squash them in front of a worldwide audience, making the best and brightest of Japanese wrestling look like fools.

[He shakes his head.]

Kaz:
Well tonight we turned the tables. Tonight, it was the giant that got squashed, under the mighty heel of puroresu.

[Mach Hawke smirks and nods his head, his mouth lifting into a sneering grin as he steps forward.

Hawke:
How did that feel, Hessian? Now you know how I felt, all those years ago, when you and Azrael Cain would stalk me through the hall like a pair of grim reapers, jumping me at any chance. In the locker room. In the parking lot.

[He holds out his hands, palm up, pleading, fists clenching in the open air.]

Hawke:
Me, a fresh-eyed kid out of the Primetime Wrestling Academy, and this my first exposure to the business. Waking up in ambulances and emergency rooms week after week. Did you think I'd forget that? Did you think I'd forgive that?!

[Shaking his head, he collects himself, his smirk returning. He holds up his FRPW tag belt, showing it to the camera.]

Hawke:
Well I'm not a kid anymore, Hessian. I'm a champion. I became a star in Japan. They gave me the chance to make a name for myself at the top of the card, after years of being held back by guys like you, Kid Wonder, the White Mexican. Japan has been a better home to me than America ever was. It's an honor for me to represent Japan under the Five Rings banner, and it'll be my pleasure to show the world that Japanese puroresu is the strongest.

[Araki nods his head, slapping a hand on the chest of the fired up Hawke.]

Kaz:
And we're just getting started. Tag wrestlers or singles; good guys or bad guys; rookies or veterans, it doesn't matter. We're putting you all on notice. Tyler Rayne, Tsonda, the Redeemed, Tchu, Hoyt Williams, any one of those fucking Bastards. You're all trash as far as we're concerned, has-beens, and never-will-bes, and we'll cut through you as quickly as you're put in front of us.

[He makes a cutting motion with his hand.]

Kaz:
And when Change in Spades see the ranks of PRIME dropping in our wake, they will know fear. For they will know their days as champions are numbered. And each night, when they go to sleep, they'll cradle their belts close, knowing that they're one day closer to the night we pry them from their child-like grips. And they'll never see those belts again.

[He laughs out loud.]

Kaz:
Because like Hawke said, he's a champion. We're all champions. Chainz is a champion. Elise is a champion. Cyrus is surely a future champion. And once we beat the Spades, and once we slap around that pretty-boy Jason Snow and take his belt too, we'll have all the gold in PRIME. And it'll be....what's that cute saying you've got? Oh yeah.

[Big smile.]

Kaz:
Easy...peasy....Japaneasy.

And here's a link to a match I wrote involving this team.

OK, so I have one and only one problem with this app, and that's that DEFIANCE has trios tag divisions, not normal tag teams.

If you have no problem adding a 3rd guy to the team, I have no problem OK'ing the app.

Yes from me (so yeah, you would probably need to make Kaz the third member) and a very solid app.

OMG! Steve You live!!! Been a while there man. Glad you doing well , I really liked the Civil Disobedience back in the day, And if timing was right I was wanting to snatch the Street Cutters from Prime. But I found out the tag division closed to late to try and get you.

Anyways the Street Cutters do need a 3rd partner. You could have Kaz Araki fulfill his life long dream, or create a 3rd member. Either way I am sure that wont be a problem for them. Be a great add to the fed. So I say Yes. even if it means I have to do more posers :(

Yes, JP, make sure you fix your spelling!

And if timing was right I was wanting to snatch the Street Cutters from Prime. But I found out the tag division closed to late to try and get you.

Oh, so you wanted to try and poach talent? Can't say I really blame you for wanting PRIMEates. :p

Thanks for taking the time to read the app over.

I'm planning on sticking around for a while. I'm doing a lot of work from home these days, so I have all kinds of free time. As long as I'm writing matches and promos and not roleplays, I'll be happy.

I've got at least an idea, possibly more than one about the ultimate third member, but to start off I'll just slot in Kaz Araki as the third member.

If accepted, I'm not in a super hurry to jump in. I'd like to take my time and talk with people to see exactly where the best place to fit in for the next arc after the PPV would be. In the meantime, I'd be available for a backup writer on any matches.

Way to be a day late and a buck short, Anty.

Alright, since everyone's yes depended on you getting a third, and you got a third, you're in.

Hit me up, we'll talk shop.
