(FADEIN: The First standing in a ring enclosed in a steel cage. First has his face painted in the Prince Nuada motif. He has on a black wife beater that reads "The Father" in gold across the chest. His arms taped up with the words "April" on one arm and "Toby" on the other. The NewERA World Title slung over his shoulder.)

FIRST: Suicide, you're a what a stupid man thinks a smart man would sound like. You try to make points but all you do is make yourself out to be a fool. You tell me not to hide behind my wife and kids. I've never hid behind them, I fight for them, it's the greatest reason a man would ever have to fight. To bring glory and fame to his family, to put food on the table.

I get ready to walk into a steel cage and shorten my career...Shorten my life...To provide for them...I will bleed and suffer for them to have a better life...I am their sword and shield, they hide behind me. That's the way of the world.

Then you ask me "What do I want?" the question I asked others. You see you don't understand the question and the contract it implies.

I asked people what they wanted because I could give it to them. Cruise sought respect and power. Willard wanted to soak the ring in blood such that you would need a mop to clean it up. I granted them their wishes with the simple request that they served me. You ask the question without being able to give me what I want. You ask the question when you fully know what the answer is.

I want the money and security needed for my family to live the good life. That's it. You got that kind of cash laying around then give it to me and I'll forfeit this title to you. I'm not here for the fans or the love of the sport. I'm here for money plain and simple, and sadly at this moment in my life the only skill set I have to pay the bills is to make other men bleed and suffer until their bodies are to broken to continue fighting.

See Suicide, you really aren't that bright and you really don't understand what you're getting yourself into. You're locking yourself in a steel cage with a proud man. A man willing to do anything to beat you to keep this title and keep the cash coming in. I refuse to be defeated by the likes of you. You better enter this cage willing to fight until you body shuts down, you better be willing to give everything and then a little bit more, because that's what it'll take to put me down.

Do you have it in you? I doubt it.

The camera fades in to Suicide standing in front of a New ERA backdrop with a lit cigar in hand. His masked visage is almost completely obscured by his black fedora tilted down. He takes a puff of the cigar and lets out a cloud of smoke into the air.

“There is an old adage that applies to those who believe they are above it all and that what is said to others does not apply to them…”

“‘Do as I say, not as I do.’”

“Hypocrisy is a damned thing; we can preach to those who look down upon, scoffing at the notion that they could ever be an equal, whether it’s physically, mentally, intellectually, financially, et cetera. We raise our noses up to those who feel are inferior to us and yet when our match is met, panic takes over. That cold sweat dripping from our brows, our eyes darting to and fro in every direction we can see, the blood coursing through our veins at an exhilarating speed - that is when we get desperate.”

Suicide pauses for a moment and looks to the side before turning his hat up. He then stares into the camera intently.

“Mr. Nadalny, you look like a man grasping for straws. It seems the tide has turned and it is you drowning in your own sea of hypocrisy. For a man who considers himself a family man, one of honor and dignity, you have no problem performing dastardly, underhanded actions in order to succeed. You have wrestlers like Mr. Cameron Cruise, Mr. Adrian Willard, and now, Mr. Mala Fakalata following you like your own children. They look up to you with doe eyes as they are filled with broken promises that you will fulfill… just to reap the ill-gotten rewards. But the truth is, you never end up make good on your end of the bargain. Once you’re done syphoning all you can from them, you throw away their worn-out husks and move on to the next.”

“You’ve also done the exact same thing to your opponents - get into their mind and pull their strings like the masterful puppeteer you believe you are. You’ve toyed with the likes of Shawn Hart, Fanatic, amongst countless others, and have succeeded for the most part. You must really be proud of your superior intellect and cunning, as it has undoubtedly brought you much fortune.”

“Until you ran into me.”

“You see, Mr. Nadalny, your hubris has gotten, and at Banned in the U.S. II, will get the better of you. It seems you took great offense when I mentioned your family and rightfully so. I mean, who wants something that personal brought into this?”

“Well… you did...”

The Mysterious Wanderer took another puff of his cigar before he continued on.

“I thought you were a professional wrestler, not a professional victim. You have no qualms preying on those you think are weaker than you, but it seems you bit off more than you can chew. In this sport, there is no time to have pity parades for yourself. It does not matter what you fight for. I could sit here and wax poetic of the hardships in my life, the trials and tribulations I must endure. But we both know that crying about it isn’t going to win us the battle.”

“No, Mr. Nadalny, what’s going to help us become victorious is doing whatever it takes to persevere and survive. I know you’re desperate when it comes to holding that title, as you so eloquently put it. But with desperation comes mistakes, and that is what makes you weak. I have no room to leave anything to chance, hence why I wanted our battle for the New Era World Heavyweight Championship inside an enclosed steel cage. I know you are a very dangerous man, especially in matches such as this. And you are absolutely correct Mr. Nadalny - I am not that bright and I do not know what I’m getting myself into…”

“...except I do. You see, I’m no stranger when it comes to cage matches. I’ve had my body bruised, bloodied, and broken many a time. I’ve faced many big names who critics and peers like said I could never triumph over. And in the end, I survived with my head held high and sometimes a championship around my waist. How? As you had said, when you reach that point where you can no longer continue that you must be willing to do everything and anything to survive.”

“But here’s the lie you’ve been so blind to, Mr. Nadalny - while you are indeed ready to sacrifice yourself both physically, mentally, and emotionally for your family, you still have something to lose in all of this… and that is a scary thought. Know what is scarier? Facing a man who has nothing to lose.”

“While you take me very lightly and ready to write me off, I can not do the same to you, Mr. Nadalny. I know you are a very serious threat; it’s why I challenged you. Winning the title from a lesser being wouldn’t be as gratifying as it would taking it from a dangerous, yet prideful individual such as yourself. And if there’s one thing I’m very good at, it’s felling those who are prideful. I look forward to our undoubtedly bloody massacre at Banned in the U.S. II.”

“What do I look forward to even more, though?”

Suicide leans forward towards the camera, his symbol on the mask staring right into the lens.

“Taking the World Heavyweight Championship from your shattered, unconscious body.”

“‘Nuff said…”

Suicide takes one last puff of his cigar and exhales into the air as the camera fades out…

(FADEIN: The First, in the same outfit as before but this time standing in front of a NewERA banner. The NewERA World Championship belt slung over his shoulder.)

FIRST: You're a child. You really are. Everything about you is grasping and pathetic. You tell me I used and abused Cruise and Willard. They left a long time ago, the industry ate them up. I was there in those locker rooms when Cameron Cruise would walk around like a man past the age of sixty. This industry beaten him from head to toe, but he still gave it a go, he still found the nerve to lace those boots up and fight. I used him and he used me but in the end the game takes it all away from us, I'm a lucky man to be where I am, only a few minor surgeries on my right knee, only a handful of concussions I can count, but we all know the price we pay to be in this business.

Wearing a fedora, calling me by my government name. You're a hipster who's trying to hard to impress people. You know how many little white pieces of shit call me that while I was in Japan? I'd say about a dozen, none of them older than 17, bunch of little idiots so proud of themselves that they have that bit of trivia to show how smart they are. Anyone ever call you anything other than Suicide? Anyone care enough to do that?

See literally everything you said is just recycled garbage I've heard a thousand times, how I'm a dishonest bastard, I'm a jerk and I'm evil. That I use people and discard them. That's a nice story if it was anything close to the truth. Fakalata isn't some doe eyed fool who thinks I'll give him glory in exchange for his services. He's a man I've bled and suffered with all over Japan. He's a man who wanted to cross the ocean and see America and be a part of our great nation. He's the muscle here cause he doesn't want to think to much. He just wants to break bones and hurt people and I can handle the rest of the work.

I'm the one who brought my family up, I'm the one that has my children's names written on my arm tape. You didn't anger me when you brought them up, I don't care if you talk about them. I'm the one that's made it an issue, I'm the one that's put them on display for the world to see. That was my decision and I'm quite comfortable with it, that you think you've gotten under my skin with these moronic claims is truly impressive.

The thing about you that angers me is that when we talk it sounds like whatever I say you hear the opposite and react to it incorrectly. It's like the conversation I want to have with you and the conversation I do have with you are two totally different things. I feel like I'm going crazy when I hear you talk. I hear you talk and I have no idea who you're yelling at. The opponent you are screaming at is some delusion of your own mind.

And I ain't looking past you or down on you. I don't underestimate any man willing to set foot inside the ring, much less one that's willing to enter an enclosed steel cage. You might be stupid, but you're a big boy and you have a desire for violence and brutality, we all do or we wouldn't be in this business. You have to like seeing a man bleed and knowing that you did it to him. I know you feel that way about hurting people and I know you truly do intend on breaking my body and leaving me in a pool of blood while you take my title. I know entering that cage is a bad thing for my long term health as a human being.

But for my long term legacy, for me to become an even bigger legend and even more famous man, I must enter that cage and best you. Human beings are frail and short lived but legends are eternal. A man once said that we don't die till people stop talking about us. In that matter of speaking some men live forever. I know this sport won't make me a legend like Alexander the Great or Genghis Khan, but maybe I can push back my death a few decades by my actions in that cage against you.

Of course in doing so I shall make you a part of my glory, I shall extend your life as well, make you a part of the legacy and the legend that is The First and his incredible career. Just by being willing to enter the ring with you I give you a taste of greatness. I know you will not thank me for it, such humility is beneath you, such is the burden I bear.

And I do all of this for my children, my wife. They drive me to this, they push me to a greatness I never even thought possible before but it is in my very humanity that obtain immortality, truly being human is what allows me to become so much more than a mere mortal ever should be.

That's me, that's The First. Legend, Father, Champion. If you want to tear me down, you better bring your best and pray that it's enough.

The camera fades in to the outside of the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. The famed arena where Banned in the U.S. II takes place is shown prominently in a brisk afternoon.

“Legacy... “

“It’s a word that is often thrown around in New Era of Wrestling. Jean Rabesque had always talked about fulfilling a legacy of no gimmicks and no hype… yet his entire career had always been one hyped gimmick. Chaos had once talked about the legacy of his famed wrestling family, that proudly represented the Hellion Dojo… and now that barely-lit torch is carried by his younger brother. Larry Tact, as of late, has been spouting about the Tact Legacy with his brother… but that has become nothing more than a sham as his brother, who you know as Fanatic, was nothing more than a puppet he manipulated.”

“And then there’s you, Mr. Nadalny…”

The camera pans back to reveal none other than The Mysterious Wanderer himself, Suicide.

“You talk about your legacy of becoming a bigger and more famous legend in this illustrious sport of ours. But when you spoke prior, you were ready to give all of that up for a blank check. You are a family man now but you have no problem doing insidious things, even if those who love you look upon you with disapproval. Men like Mr. Fakalata are their own person and yet, they bark at your beck and call. You are a man of contradictions and it’s no wonder why - you really don’t know who you are and what you really want.”

“I’m accused by you for making baseless assumptions and yet you once again go off on a tangent, calling me names as if we are on a elementary school playground. Do you honestly believe you are the first person to claim that I haven’t got under their skin? You honestly believe I care what others have done and said to you in the past? It’s plainly obvious to anyone that my words have affected you so much that you would stoop to petty insults. Is that the legacy you wish to leave the world, Mr. Nadalny?”

“You care so much about what the world thinks of you and what they will think of you when you leave this mortal coil. I’ve had many people make boisterous claims about giving me a ‘taste of their greatness’, only to be severely disappointed on how bland that taste truly is. In the end, I’m usually left unsatisfied and wanting for more. But very few have been willing to give me everything they have.”

“What gave me a good chuckle is I am saying all of this screaming in anger when in fact, Mr. Nadalny, I have always spoken my piece with a calm reserve. My words have never been anodyne for the reality is the truth hurts. And painfully obvious truth is the only one here who is ranting and raving like a lunatic… is you. After all, you are the one trying to prove something to yourself, your family, and the entire world at large.”

“Unlike yourself, I am not some try-hard, self-entitled little prick desperate for attention. For me, wrestling isn’t about the fame or the fortune or the adulation of each and every person who watches me hone my craft. No, for me, wrestling has always been about survival. When I am in that squared circle, I am one with myself, my resolve is second to none, and I always focused squarely at the task at hand. Win or lose, I am always pushing myself to the brink and then trying to stretch the limits of what my mind and body can do.”

“I respect this sport and I respect what it represents. For you, it’s a means to an end and yet, it’s a path to glory. The problem with that, which you can not understand, is that it can also be your undoing. You reap what you sow, Mr. Nadalny, and that is why our match is in a steel cage. I care not about your personal relationships with the puppets whose strings you have pulled. I just know, as I have stated before, that you are willing to do anything and everything to hold onto that World Heavyweight Championship.”

“But even that may not be enough against me. Greater men than you have tried to make me a footnote in their careers and in the end, they have become exclamation points in mine. You are not anybody special, but don’t think for a second that I don’t take you seriously. Our words mean nothing in the end, for our actions speak loud and clear. It is those actions that I take seriously and I intend to battle you like my life depends on it… even if I’ve been in this same situation time and time again.”

"You may call yourself The First, but in the end, you will just be the next man to fall at my feet due to underestimating my abilities and overlooking what I can be truly capable of. You have bitten off way more than you can chew and you will sufficate from your own gluttony. Besides, even if you think have survived, just remember... it isn't over unless I say it is... 'nuff said..."

The camera pans away and fades out.
