Handler Information
Name: Andy.
Email Address: amurray87@gmail.com
Preferred Method of Handling: 100% angle. Though my background is mostly roleplay-based, all I want to do now is tell a fun wrestling story through segments, matches, news posts, and whatever else sounds good.
Best Way to Contact You: Forum PM, email, or Twitter (@andythemurrr).
eWrestling Experience: Started on the Angelfire circuit in 2001, just like everyone else. I drifted into PTC about a year later, worked my way into PCW and hung around the circle for the next decade, most notably in GCW and PRIME. Andy Murray is my most notable character.
How did you find Defiance? Blame Lindz.
Writing Sample
An old match that shows the extent of his former viciousness, and the corner he's had to turn in recent years: http://prime.e-wrestling.org/content.php?p=results&id=188#3718
I've also got plenty of segments, roleplays and other bits and pieces if you'd prefer.
Wrestler(s) Information
Ring Name: Jason Natas
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 260lbs
Hailing From: New York City.
Alignment: Face.
Gimmick: Once one of the most reviled villains in PRIME, Jason Natas is a reformed character. Having suffered a near-fatal overdose following "comeback" match loss to Lindsay Troy on PRIME's 2012 farewell tour, Jason experienced an epiphany as his life hung in the balance. Stricken by guilt spawned by years of misdeeds, Jason knew he had a huge corner to turn and a mountain of wrongs to right. Treating the rest of the world like dirt on his boots had done nothing for him, and he returned to life (and wrestling) with a more balanced moral compass.
With Jason, there's no desire to play the hero, or be a knight in shining armour. His redemption is quiet and internal: he'll no longer go looking for trouble, but if it finds him, he'll still handle business. He's aloof, never makes an unnecessary scene, and keeps his cards close to his chest, often coming across like a character in a Clint Eastwood western. He's gained a significant cult following in recent years for his brutally hard-hitting moveset, sharp tongue and willingness to throw down. Having rebuilt himself on the US indie scene, his skills have become a wanted commodity once again, though his past's darkness continues to loom large.
Wrestling Style: Once the most generic of brawlers, Jason's craft now compromises of technical striking coupled with stiff power grappling. Strikes, slams and throws. Typically a measured and methodical with controlled bursts and flurries of aggression
Three Weaknesses:-
1. Athleticism. Jason's 31-year-old who smoked like a chimney stack, consumed boatloads of alcohol and suffered a near-fatal overdose in 2012. He's reformed now, but these vices have taken a hefty toll on his body. He's as strong as an ox, but slow, low on agility, and prone to tiring quickly. This is a huge issue if he can't keep smaller, quicker foes grounded.
2. Mat Wrestling. Ground and pound aside, Jason's a fish out of water on the mat, and you can count the number of reversals he knows on one hand. He'll always rely on sheer brute force to fight his way out of such situations, which can lead to over-exertion. Complex submissions and chain wrestling are out of the question.
3. Demons. He's well along the road to atonement, but there's still a long way to go. Jason struggles daily with the ghosts of his past, and faces a constant battle to prevent his nasty side from re-emerging. Though he'll rarely talk about these things, and will try to hide them, they're there for manipulation.
Three Strengths:
1. Striking. He has trained as a Muay Thai kickboxer and briefly trained with Sonny Silver during his PRIME tenure. Jason hits hard, quickly and precisely. He's proficient with fists, elbows, knees and kicks, and will throw anything that his size allows. His footwork and technicality give him the ability to control almost any striking exchange, making it incredible difficult to drag him into a wild brawl.
2. Pacing. Jason's lack of athleticism has forced him to learn how to effectively utilize his offence without gassing out. Efficient energy usage and knowing when to speed things up or slow things down are absolutely key to his success. Typically, Jason starts slowly, creating distance with strikes and throws, before breaking-out the big guns as the match progresses.
3. Grit. Jasons feels pain and disappointment like any other human, but he rarely succumbs to either, and excels at battling through tough situations. He can take a beating, rarely loses his focus, and carries an indomitable spirit into battle, making him a disheartening, will-breaking foe.
