Hey gang,

Kin Hiroshi here looking for some critiques/input for myself as an rp'er. I am not the kind of person to scream and shout about comments made about my character, but please keep it in check.

Also, I know that Kin IS a comical character, and has been structured to be such, but be a sound WRESTLER on top of that.

PLUS, I also realize that Kin is rarely ever involved in long-term angles with others, mostly due to lack of response I get back from you guys when I try to hook something up.

In advance thanks, and play nice,

Mike Dove

RE: I deserve that.

I deserve that Mike.

I know that you directed that at me, and I know that I offended alot of people with my defence of my characters. For what its worth, all comments have been taken and I am trying to put it all to use. I hope that this Revolution card is the start and proof of those comments. Just a mental note, I never screamed in my defense, just very very firm in my stances with my characters. I have to admit that I do take them seriously because I put so much into them. But enough of me, lets talk about Mike, and will be as honest and thoughtful as I can be. Please be encouraged, but at the sametime please don't let it go to your head and that everything needs improvement...even the best of rpers, and you are pretty close to the better rpers of the GXW.

I will try to tell you what you are doing right, and what you might...I said might need to improve on (Which isn't much) ut take it for what its worth. From what I have seen about your work Mike, you are a very solid rper, when you have had time to rp. Now we all know that real life comes before fantasy life, and that's understandable. But for the time that you have had, you have always made truly created an energetic, well evolving, very funny character. I think that it is safe to say that so far that your character, such as Kin Hiroshi has never been a big spotlight kind of guy. He has always been a supportative kind of guy. When you hooked him up with the SSN, that fit him. He was like a funny type of heel. Someone whom we could enjoy, and gave angles that he was in a little tongue and cheek feel, which is what something like that needed. I have always enjoyed Kin, but I don't think that Kin is the type of character who was meant to be the spearheader of some big angle. He has always been the type of character who has added more flare and fire to an already established angle. Now, can this change? Yes. (See Hellfighter, or at least I hope that you see the start of what I am doing with him) I think that you did good by giving Kin a tag team partner, it's something new and can really help Kin evolve.

Your attention to spelling and grammer in your rps is great. Which might I add that you are one of the MANY people that I am trying to use to help me improve as an rper. Your humor is top notch, but never over the top...well maybe sometimes, but not without a reason of course. I would say that I would like to see Kin with more of a serious type of role and tone it down on the humor a little bit from time to time, but I really don't think that he can do that because he is such a naturally funny character. Maybe you might be anble to "experiment" with a quick serious side of Kin Hiroshi and tell us more where he came from. Not all clowns are funny, some are crying under the mask and makeup. I wouldn't mind getting to know Kin a little more as a character.

I think that as a goal for 2002, just take this time to try and help Kin grow and evolve as a character on a deeper level. Also show the connection between him and his new tag team partner. Is it just a business thing, or does it go much much deeper than that?

Now these are just my thoughts. You don't have to take my advice and suggestions if you don't want to. Just something a little extra for you to take into consideration. I am trying to be as honest but thoughtful as I possible can be. I look at it this way. Right now every body in the GXW is way better than me. I think that it is safe to say that "I suck" But I am honestly trying to improve. But you, Mike are in a much better position that I am. For the most part you have everything you need as a great rper, you just need the angle and direction.

Well I think that I have said enough. From the words of HellFighter, I don't want to get accused of preaching, which I am not, but still. These are just suggestions and ideas that I thought you might be able to use. You don't have to, but if you do we'll see what happens. If they don't work out...don't blame me...okay okay okay blame me. HAHAHAHAHA! Anything else, let me know.

Sincerely,
God Bless,

RE: I deserve that.

Hi, how ya doin? Me? I'm fine. :) Ok, enough pleasantries.

I think you're good enough of an Rp'er to be as successful as you need to be. It's not really a matter of what in your role plays you need to improve on so much as it is character development. Do you want to be a bit player or do you want to have Hiroshi challenge for the big one some day? Do you want to be strictly a one dimensional comedy type guy or do you add another element to deepen the character and make him interesting enough to hold someone's attention...especially those making the decisions. If you want to make that big move, decide in your head who you're going after and have a plan. If it's a great angle, then propose it and go from there. If you want to get someone's attention the old fashioned way, sneak attack the bastard til he can't ignore you any longer. You can't impress anyone unless you earn that chance to shine. Make waves, get booked and then role play your ass off. I guarantee that if you go after an established name, get his attention...and a match, and then use that shot to drop some golden RP's on him, you'll never again be known for making muffin jokes again. Basically, it's up to you. But if it was me, I'd make sure someone noticed me. Whatever it takes. All you need is an oppurtunity.
