I was on my way to Kansas to cover an NWA Dynamo Pro show for my website (Missouri Wrestling Revival) and i got a call from Dynamo asking me to ring announce for the night due to a last minute emergency for the original ring announcer. I was hesitant, but decided to go ahead and give it a try.
I ended up announcing an entire card, including the main event of Ring of Honor Heavyweight Champion Jerry Lynn versus one of my favorite Midwest wrestlers, Mark Sterling. I was ringside for that match with the ROH belt sitting in front of me on the table. AWESOME.
Yes, I still mark out for pro wrestling. There is a lot to have fun with on the indy scene.
I started the night off nervous as hell and was NOT dressed for the occassion as I didn't even know I would be ring announcing until halfway through a four hour trip, but by the end of the night I was having a lot of fun. Can't wait to do it again!
