Sample Roleplay

The scene opened in a Legacy of Champions training facility located in beautiful Florida. The only problem, it isn’t always beautiful in Florida when you’ve locked yourself away from the world doing nothing, but physical training. That was the life Jesse Ramey lived though, no known dependants left him with a lot of free time on his hands and a lot of stuff lingering on his mind.

Jesse was standing next to his open bag, pulling his tape from it, and preparing for another of his long lasting goes in the gym. Then he turned to look into the camera.

“So, there has been a lot of chatter here as of late, people saying that it doesn’t seem like I really have what it takes. A lot of speculation going around that Jesse Ramey just can’t quite hang with the rest of the wrestlers participating in this over the top rope challenge. My biggest problem with all of this is that not a single person here knows exactly who I am.” Jesse paused for a moment, “Although I do appreciate the fact that one person decided to check up on my recent endeavors. However, if you think that is Jesse Ramey in a nut shell then you are far from anything that could be considered a logical notion.”

“Born in Harts, West Virginia,” Jesse took another short pause and crossed his arms, “judging by that statement alone I know what you are all thinking. Well, this guy is from West Virginia so therefore he must be an inbred moron. Once again you would have judged me incorrectly, seeing as how a good portion of my life wasn’t even spent in wild and wonderful West Virginia. You see, growing I wasn’t what you would have called the model child.”

Jesse smirked, “I did get to spend a little time in the public school systems of West Virginia that is until the end of my second grade year. The local school systems didn’t want to work with me anymore and my parents just didn’t want anything to do with me. So, what did that leave for the future of little Jesse Ramey? It left me being placed in a juvenile boot camp in Virginia for four years, from the time I was ten until I was fourteen years old.”

“Some of you people think you have had a rough life,” Jesse sighed, “think how it feels to be that young and know for a fact that no a single person in the world cares the least bit about you. The occurrences up to that point in time weren’t the best to begin with either. Take into consideration the primary reasons I ended up in that predicament anyway. My father was a drunk and very abusive man, and my mother was always dependant on the drugs to make it through the days. If I wasn’t being knocked against a wall by a drunkard I was being hauled around with my mother to find that next fix.”

“Don’t come up into this game unless you know the facts about a person,” Jesse looked directly into the camera, “And don’t act all hard unless you know for sure that you are just as tough as your competition. But let’s not stray from the topic at hand here. After four years spent in a correctional institution I thought I would put my pent up rage and aggression to good use; in a form of competition that I’ve been in for the better part of my life.”

“You see, growing up wasn’t always the worst thing in the world for me,” Jesse took another moment to pause and reflect. “Some of my best memories growing up were of watching professional wrestling with my grandfather. Seeing how excited he would get watching a match made me want to be that. Knowing that if I could succeed in the sport that I would have his full admiration, that is exactly what I was striving for. At least, that was what I thought at the time and when I was finally released from the juvenile boot camp. Upon arriving home I had to find out that my grandfather passed away in my four year departure.”

Jesse lowered his head for a moment, “And not a single person thought it would be nice to let me know. Then again I never really expected anything from my family while I was away. Hell, try being a fourteen year old kid waiting at the pick-up area and knowing in the back of your mind that no one is coming to get you. Then having to bum enough money to catch the Grey Hound back home to West Virginia, and then hitch hiking through three counties before even arriving home.”

“That is the definition of disappointment, or at least it would have been if you in fact didn’t know it was going to happen.” Jesse paused once more, “Just when I was ready to come home, start a new life, and trying to achieve a goal that would make the one person I looked up be proud of me. Just to come home and find out that he had passed away and that nothing had changed, except me. If nothing is going to change around you then you’ve got to change yourself, or in my case just pack what you have and hit the road.”

“I did stick around for a while though,” Jesse paused once again, “I didn’t want to abandon my grandmother in such a vulnerable state. Then again, that didn’t last long either, considering my grandmother passed away no less than a month of my being around. Now that woman did more for me than anyone else in this world by giving me just enough money to survive on the road and a beat up vehicle to live out of while I was striving to achieve my dreams of being a professional wrestler.”

“Now, we all know where this story is going from here. The typical I lived out of my vehicle, got paid only occasionally for putting on a performance, and barely made it by in life; all for the one thing that I loved and had a passionate desire to do. We’ve all heard the story told before, so I’m not going into to detail about any of that, but let’s skip ahead sixteen years into the present.” Jesse paused, “Never once did I give up on my dreams and never have I ever stopped trainings and honing my skills in this profession, for sixteen years of my life.”

“I’ve been to hell and back, and I’ve seen most of the world, but never would I change a thing. I am who I am because of the things that have happened in my life and I’m more than happy to say I did it all on my own. Not many people can say that, most people try to climb and they fall, but that was never my attitude in life. You’ve got to strive to survive in life, and there are no catch phrases that are going to instantly get you over.” Jesse flicked his hair out of his face with the twist of his neck, “Sixteen years experience, virtually trained in every form of professional wrestling known to man. That’s enough of a resume if you ask me, and if any of you other wrestlers want to call me out on my ability in that ring then step up. All you have to do is come nose to nose with me and I’ll make sure you’re eating canvas by the end of the night.”

[FONT=&quot]“Monsoon, Flyer, Cash, Douglas, Payne; all I have to say is we can all talk big, but when it all boils down to what goes on in that ring just bring it.” Jesse paused once more, “Let’s not all talk big and not deliver when push comes to shove. I have no doubt in my mind that there will be a challenge involved going into this match and during this match, but one thing that I can guarantee is that going into this match I will be well prepared. And don’t think for a second that I’m going to let up, because as far as I’m concerned Free For All Championship or not I am going to steal the show one way or another. Now that is something you can run to the bank with.”

I've known Jesse for a little while in LoC and from what I know and experienced, he's a very talented writer.

I suggest any of the vet fed heads get this guy in their league quick...if my word means anything.
