(FADE-IN: The Detroit skyline. It is now nighttime as the moon shines off the buildings of downtown Detroit and Lake St. Clair. The camera pans over to the front of Cobo Hall where the marquee continues to scroll. CUT-TO: The ringside area. The camerman is walking along the barricade filming the fans at ringside, who are acting in various degrees of silliness as the camera passes. One of the fans spills his beer in the excitement, while another guy picks what looks to be his little brother up and puts him in the torture rack on camera. CUT-TO: Matt Faley in the ring)
MATT FALEY: "Ladies and gentlemen, in our next match, coming to the ring," (CUE-UP: "Shadow Man" by W.A.S.P.) "From Hell, Michigan, weighing in at 265lbs., JAROD POE!!"
(The crowd mostly pops for the Michigan native, as he walks down the aisle with a serious look on his face, but grinning slightly for a few seconds at the response. He wears black leather pants and black boots as he climbs into the ring. Several tattoos on his upperbody are quite visible along with piercings in the bridge of his nose)
M.F.: "And his opponent," (CUE-UP: "Rottweiler" by Pitch Black) "From Chicago, Illinois, weighing in at 256lbs., 'GOD'S GIFT' DEAN MCQUEEN!! He is accompanied by Naomi!!"
(The crowd reacts with mostly boos as Dean McQueen walks to ringside confidently with Naomi at his side, wearing yellow thigh length tights with red knee pads and boots. Naomi, a stunning redhead, is in a neon green bikini top and same color painted on spandex pants, which elicits several hoots and cat calls from the males in the audience. McQueen cups his ears to the crowd sarcastically as he stands on the apron, then Naomi holds the ropes open for him as he climbs in to argue with the fans even more)
TONY ROSS: "Well this is our first look at both of these gentlemen, and with McQueen, I use thnat term loosely! This guy requested a full length mirror earlier today backstage so he could look at himself in all his glory!"
RICK WISEMAN: "There's only so far you can get in the ring on your looks alone, so we'll see if McQueen can back up his vanity in the ring! Meanwhile, Poe looks to be all business in his corner!"
T.R.: "From what we could tell about Poe from his promos, he seems to have had a pretty rough life and he's looking to turn some of that into a successful career here in GLCW! It's quite an unorthodox look about him!"
R.W.: "And quite intimidating!"
T.R.: "Poe walks right up to McQueen as he was busy arguing with a fan and he pushes him! he wants this one to get started! McQueen pushes back and Poe sends him to the mat with a huge right! McQueen gets back up and fires back with rights off his own only to be staggered by a Poe kick to the gut and Poe rams him headfirst into the turnbuckle! Takeover suplex!! Wow!! McQueen did not expect this and he rolls right out of the ring!"
R.W.: "Naomi is consoling him and putting his hair back into place and Poe will have none of this!"
T.R.: "The fans seem to like Poe's style and aggression as they cheer him on as he goes out to get McQueen! He punches McQueen in the back of the head and dumps him back into the ring! McQueen is able to get a few shots to the gut in and he rolls him up for a small package! 1.....2.....No!! Poe kicks out and McQueen staggers to his feet to catch Poe in a side headlock! Poe shoves him off and McQueen rebounds with a shoulder block! Nobody budges! McQueen off the ropes again and Poe steps aside and grabs his head to throw him right out of the ring and McQueen flies out and hits the steel barricade!! Ouch!!"
R.W.: "And Poe follows him right out! He is in a big hurry to take it to McQueen here! And looks at Naomi getting in front of McQueen! I don't know what's larger, her courage or his cowardice!"
T.R.: "Poe simply pushes Naomi aside but McQueen was ready and he rakes Poe's eyes! McQueen with a kick to the gut and he sends Poe crashing into the steel post! McQueen rolls him into the ring and pulls him up for a belly to belly suplex, nicely executed! McQueen calls to the crowd as if they should be impressed with that! And now he's asking Naomi for approval and she gives the big thumbs up!"
R.W.: "They don't come too much more arrogant than Dean McQueen!"
T.R.: "You don't earn a nickname like 'God's Gift" for nothing! McQueen pulls him up and now he's choking Poe with the ring rope! Referee Marinaro wants a break and McQueen waits til the last possible second to break! McQueen jaws a bit with Marinaro before grabbing Poe and he hooks him up for a double underhook suplex! McQueen measures him and drops a knee to the head and covers!! 1.....2....No!! Poe kicks out and McQueen yanks him up by the hair and slaps him a few times!"
R.W.: "It seems like that kind of treatment has only energized and angered Poe even more!"
T.R.: "Poe fires back with rights and lefts as he struggles to his feet! McQueen rakes the eyes and whips him in! McQueen ducks down and Poe kicks a field goal with McQueen's head!! Wow!! McQueen might have lost some teeth after that one and the crowd responds to that shot! Poe collects himself and charges McQueen with a shoulderblock! Poe off the ropes with a high jumping elbow! He pulls McQueen up and whips him in!! Big powerslam!! 1......2.....No!! McQueen just barely kicked out!"
R.W.: "Well the simple arrogant move of McQueen slapping Poe in the face has turned the tide of this match quite suddenly!"
T.R.: "McQueen rolls out of the ring and Poe grabs him by the hair and pulls him up on the apron!! Reverse suplex back into the ring!! Oh my!! Poe picks him up and presses him in the air!! The fans are responding in force here as McQueen is way up in the air!! Poe drops him into a falcon arrow!! Holy cow!! What a move!!"
R.W.: "I believe he calls that the Poison Dart, Tony! I had a chance to chat with him earlier and he has a lot of new innovative moves that he may or may not show us tonight!"
T.R.: "McQueen has somehow managed to roll out of the ring again and is being checked by Naomi! McQueen looks wildly frustrated as he looks around for something to grab! He throws the timekeeper aside and grabs his chair! He rolls into the ring with it and raises it up to strike Poe as Marinaro screams at him to get the chair out of there!!"
R.W.: "Look, Poe seems to be egging him on to do it! He wants McQueen to hit him with the chair! Is he nuts??"
T.R.: "McQueen winds up and cracks him!! Poe staggers back but he's still standing!! He shakes his head and he smiles at McQueen!! Oh man, his head must be made of steel!! McQueen just drops the chair and rolls out and it doesn't matter because he's getting disqualified for that chair shot!! Look at McQueen and Naomi high-tail it out of there like they've seen a ghost!"
R.W.: "It's not too often you can see a guy take a shot to the head like that and still be standing! And the fans respect that kind of toughness and they are showing their approval of Jarod Poe here in Detroit!"
T.R.: "As McQueen disappears behind the curtain, Poe with a DQ win here will advance to the quarterfinals in Madison, Wisconsin next week against Redemption! Fans, we will be right back after this with more GLCW First Wave!"
