[The scene opens in bright daylight on the streets of Lincoln Park, Chicago. A tall, skinny guy in his early 20s wears a Transformers tshirt beneath a gray blazer and blue jeans, his ridiculous curly hair somehow tied together with a pair of aviators. He holds a bulky microphone with an RLW logo. The camera quality is…decent? Certainly not high-def. Standing still before a large brick building, he gets a signal from the cameraman, nods, and breaks into a toothy smile.]
Danny Dalton: “Welcome everybody! My name is Danny Dalton, and I’m here to welcome you to HOME BASE for Red Line Wrestling! As you know, we have a loving partnership with DePaul University - GO BLUE DEMONS! - and they have generously allowed us use of the building behind me: the Sullivan Athletic Center!”
[Danny waves his right arm in an arc, trailed by a Barry-added rainbow and sparkle effect.]
DD: “Let’s go inside!”
[RLW LOGO WIPE! Danny stands next to another man, roughly his age, with long straight hair that includes a bleached streak. He’s wearing a suit and has a raised eyebrow, and he’s got a small stack of notecards that he’s studying. They stand before a large screen backdrop covered in small RLW logos.]
DD: “Ladies and gentlemen, we’re standing in the SOON TO BE ICONIC interview room with NONE OTHER than the man of a thousand questions! The button-pusher! And my good friend! ARIN McHENRY! How are you, Arin?”
Arin McHenry: “Doing good, Danny, how are things going with you?”
DD: “Doing great! It looks like you’re getting ready for the first show of the year, SLAMTRACK 1! How goes the prep work?”
AM: “Funny you should ask! I’m doing just a TON of research on the roster, and it’s a really fascinating bunch! By the way, how’s the uh…the ‘rash’?”
DD: [flushed] “…what.”
AM: “Roommates for three years, don't need a notecard for you!”
DD: “Barry, edit that part out.”
[White text appears on the screen: “Whoops.” RLW LOGO WIPE! A hardcourt floor surrounded by tons of bleachers with a wrestling ring in the middle. The top and bottom ring ropes are white, and the middle rope is red. A middle aged man and a younger woman, both in black-and-red striped shirts, are in the middle having a discussion.]
DD: “I’m now standing in the middle of the Sullivan Athletic Center! This facility is home court for the always-incredible DePaul Women’s Basketball team, and this is where YOUR Red Line Wrestling stars will do battle! It looks like our referee crew is getting ready for SLAMTRACK! Hey Ross! Jen! Say hi!”
[Awkward waves from the referees, and they immediately get back to work.]
DD: “The SAC seats up to THREE THOUSAND fans, if you can believe it! Right in the heart of DePaul’s Lincoln Park Campus, this is surely going to be THE PLACE TO BE when RLW gets moving!”
[Just then, a huge bearded masked wrestler stumbles into frame and nearly knocks Danny over with his voice.]
FAFNIR: “REHD LEIN WRESSLING, ES WIRD MEIN SEIN!!”
[He stumbles off.]
DD: “…hi, Fafnir. Well, that’s going to do it for now! Get pumped! Get excited! Red Line Wrestling is coming to all your luscious faces SOON!!”
[Fade to the RLW logo over a black screen.]
Danny Dalton: “Welcome everybody! My name is Danny Dalton, and I’m here to welcome you to HOME BASE for Red Line Wrestling!
