Travis Saucier was one of the all-time greats. His EOD notes were absolutely flawless at a time when things like grammar, punctuation and coherent thoughts were few and far between in the world of FW. He stood out before FW took its first evolutionary steps to where it is today.
EOD was among the first characters to have some really intriguing soap opera development-- Chris Wink was another. Travis was a huge RPG fan (Final Fantasy, D&D) and, in retrospect, that really showed in his RP. A terrific character that was viewed in many circles as being the greatest character of his time. I would be in that circle, although Zach Sirus came very close.
On a personal note, in the early days of FW and before things like Instant Messanger, Travis Saucier was probably the best friend I had in this silly, strange world of made up wrestlers. We spent a lot of time e-mailing each other about our various teen angst-- I went through a bad bout of "no one understanding me" and Travis' dad was in the military and they had to move around a lot-- once a few weeks right before he was set to start his senior year in high school.
I once called Travis, we talked for about 2-and-a-half hours or so on the phone and it was clear that if we actually knew each other in real life we'd be really good friends.
Anyways, I always hope that in any card I read in any promotion, the lights go off and standing in the ring, making his return, is Earl of Doom... because that would mean Travis is back.
