DEFIANCE DISCUSSION - Posers - YAY or NAY?

Okay,

So here's the deal.

Bobby has graciously offered to pay for posers from Ben Halkum for the entire fed. This is pretty damn cool, because the quality is really damn good, but there's a couple things that need asking.

1. Is everyone down for getting posers or would you rather DEFIANCE stay with the micros only? I'm not for or against, I do like Halkum's work, but I also like Chris' work with the micros.

- It also means we need to talk to Ross about switching some stuff around with the site to make these work, since it's setup to work perfectly with the micros.

2. I appreciate Bobby be willing to drop some serious coins on this, but lets not be jerks about it, who else would be willing to chip in a few bones?

Like I said on FB messager. I love the look of micros, LOVED the banners for the PPV. I think it gives just enough of a visual so as not to distract from the writing but enough so it's like "ok, that's what that dude sort of looks like." I think I've made it pretty clear I'm pro-Chris's micro work over most other wrestle-art.

However...

Halkum made me the first poser of Box that actually looks awesome see: my avatar.(also vaguely Asian, but it's all gravy)

So... count me on the fence, either/or right alongside James.

I too enjoy the micros of DEFIANCE. As long as it's not pic base nonsense I'm a happy camper lol. But I enjoy Ban's work and thought it might be cool to see here. But if people would like to keep it the way it is, I'm all for it.

I'm not trying to come in and change everything. :-D

I hope this doesn't sound like a copout, but posers/micros never bothered me either way. I will say yes to the majority if we decide to go poser again or stay with micros (which are also really cool.) So officially, count my vote on the poser/micro as "YES."

I'd prefer to stick to micros because (to put it graciously) I'm extremely nit-picky and detail-oriented when it comes to poser representations of LT. The time/effort I put into working with Pape on her first DEFIANCE one felt like a war of attrition. Dan (LoC) got her nearly perfect on the first go which hasn't happened since Owen did up her PRIME one. I love both of those and I love the LT micro.

However, just because I'm this way doesn't mean others should be deprived of having a poser if they want one. I can't say I'm thrilled with the potential of LT poser porn that Halkum has bragged about making with other renders, though.

To be 100% honest, when I first found the UTA, the posers turned me off. I was used to pic base (oh gawd) and thought anything else was stupid... then I learned to love poser, and the things you can do with it. That being said... I had the same thoughts about DEFIANCE. When I first came over I saw the micros and thought... "THESE ARE RIDICULOUS!", now that ive been around for a couple weeks they are growing on me.

IMO go with what you know, I agree with Murrr, no one else is using Micros now. (If they are, they are not on DEFs level, cause ive never heard of them.) I think you stick with Micros. I love the Mikey poser, but sometimes its impossible to make someone happy with Poser.

My vote is keep the micros, but I wont be pissed if it goes the other way.

The deal-breaker for me is Action Shots.

If we could get those without having to pay extra for them, then I'd say go for it as well as offer to throw in some coin.

If it's gonna cost fifty bucks every time we wanna put poser in a PPV, I say fuck it all the way in the ass, no lube.

I think sticking to micros is where we're leaning which is totally cool with me. Plus it sounds like Ben is swamped with RL at the moment so we probably wouldn't have gotten the whole fed outfitted any time soon.

Action shots would have cost more, per shot.

Srsly though, I'm down to do the micros, if thats the decision made.

It's nice seeing bloated Bobby Dean back in DEF and all the new guys or gals that flew over from UTA and/or various feds.

This is and has always been a side hobby for me. I ain't payin' for shit.

So I'm with the micros. Nice of Bobby to offer, but I don't even want him to do it, just on principle.

I'm not willing to pay anything. If I had to put money towards ANYTHING it would be webhosting, but I don't have to do that, so I'm not going to.

This would be an ongoing thing. People join, they get a poser (Which someone else pays for), and then fucks off? Someone ends up out of pocket, someone ends up pissed off. Either that or we set a limit on how long someone has to have been here to get a poser, then we end up with blank images all over the website.

If Chris is willing to do the micros for fun (and free!) I'm more than happy to keep them.

They set DEF apart from the rest of the feds out there as well.

I say nay. Keep the micros since no one else is really using them. Sets DEFIANCE apart in that vain from other feds.
