Wrestler Information
Ring Name: Colton Thorpe
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 228 lbs

Hailing From: Cleveland, Ohio

Alignment: Heel

Gimmick: Thorpe described in one word: Douchebag. He is an opportunist that doesn’t have any true friends in life, would and will stab anyone in the back to get what he wants. He will have brief allegiances, but there is always an expiration date on them. When he gets his mind set on something or someone, he becomes quite obsessive.

Wrestling Style: Brawler

Three Weaknesses:
1.)Not Technically Sound: By all means he can carry himself in the ring as a wrestler, but comes off as more of a fighter. Not a student of the game, you won't see a wide variety of wrestling suplexes or holds, meaning his reversal ability for such maneuvers is limited. Technical contests can frustrate him, which will bleed into his next two weaknesses...

2.)Temper: There is a fine line between his creativity in cheating and his temper. He will cross that line from time to time, not even trying to hide his malicious intentions towards an opponent. It is these moments that will lead to disqualifications or worse in some cases.

3.)Pride: His "tough as they come" mentality can be his ultimate weakness at times. The idea of living to fight another day is non existent, meaning he enters every match as if it is his last. His fighting style takes a physical toll on himself, though he refuses to show it. He would much rather a referee stop the match than ever tap to a submission or show that he couldn't physically continue.

Three Strengths:
1.)Striking: Colton began brawling on the underground fighting scene in Liverpool, England at the age of twenty three. This fighting style has translated into the ring, with his biggest strength being his striking ability. From variations of punches, kicks, elbows, running attacks, he is a stiff striker who's goal with every attack is to inflict as much damage as possible.

2.) Creativity: Never one to shy away from the dirty elements of a fight, he can be quite creative when it comes to the use of cheating and weapons. He finds excitement and pleasure in bending the rules and seeing how far he can go, and how much he can get away with. There will be points in a match where he will begin to view his own body as a weapon, and launch his weight in multiple variations at his opponent creating vicious collisions.

3.) Tough As Nails: He can withstand the assault of any type of competitor and find a way to stay offensively involved in the fight. He has a high threshold for pain, and almost an enjoyment for it. It is this "tough as they come" style and mentality that can frustrate and throw opponents off their game.

So he's the Cleveland Curtis Penn minus the MMA background?

Gonna need more than "douchebag, so he's a heel." I know you can write but what's going to make Thorpe stand out?

I mean, obs yes, but do me one thing... read the last couple shows, look over the roster. Come up with a couple ideas as far as potential story arcs, where you see Colton fitting in the overall story. Good starting point to get into the "angled headspace."

Well, there are only so many ways you can really describe a douchebag. Most, if not all, heels are douchebags, are they not? I understand there is an influx of heels at the moment, and if Thorpe won't fit into the current mold, I completely understand if you guys feel there is no place for him here at the moment and there certainly won't be any hard feelings.

Colt's driving force for being a dick and being generally bitter with the world stems from learning he was the bastard son from eighties wrestling legend, Harrison Jacobs, after his death. Upon learning who his father was, it led to a media storm that Colt had no desire to deal with, so he packed his shit, and moved to Liverpool, England. He abandoned his wrestling training, and found himself in the Liverpool underground fight scene, and that's how he made his money and proceeded to survive for the next four years. Eventually, his desire returned to continue his pursuit of becoming a professional wrestler, and had hopes of creating a legacy of his own that would drive a massive wedge between him and his famous fathers legacy. His father was a classic eighties babyface, so what better way to distinguish himself as a complete polar opposite than to be exactly that, his polar opposite.

I mean, obs yes, but do me one thing... read the last couple shows, look over the roster. Come up with a couple ideas as far as potential story arcs, where you see Colton fitting in the overall story. Good starting point to get into the "angled headspace."

Thanks for the advice Evan, and I will do exactly that. I'll read through more shows than I already have, and familiarize myself with the roster and story arcs. I hope to get to work with everyone here and tell some great stories.

Voting a yes on this one. Solid app and from here, he's already open to feedback and critique which is always a plus.

Don't get me wrong, Gary, I for sure want Thorpe in DEFIANCE. I asked because I wanted more substance from the get-go rather than just a generic "hey my guy's a dick and here are all the dickish things he does."

I completely understand, 100%. Hope the character background helped sell the character a bit more. I really do look forward to working with everyone.
