Handler Information

Name: Craig Maloof
Email Address: craig.maloof@gmail.com
Preferred Method of Handling: (Angle/Roleplay/Hybrid/Other/Don't Care) Since this is an angle league, I will say angle, though I can do hybrid.
Best Way to Contact You: (Forum PM/AIM/Facebook/Email/other) Forum PM or Email is typically the best way.
eWrestling Experience: (What have you done? Where?) Longest stint that I can remember is with PRIME and SCCW. Primarily RP feds.
How did you find DEFIANCE?: Stumbled across here a few times for the last few months (if not longer), though the most recent time I saw some people I had worked with previously and thought that I should stop just thinking about it and actually do it.

Writing Sample

Here's the thing. What we want here in DEFIANCE is for you to sell us on you as a handler. How you do that is up to you. Link us to an old segment. Write a new one. Link to a match you wrote. Just convince us that you want to be here and that you're worth having here.

This is the most important part of your application. I'm serious about that.

Sorry these are all on Dropbox. Hopefully it doesn’t cause any issues. If so, I can upload them somewhere.

Wrestler(s) Information

Please take note of a couple things. It is highly likely that a few roster members will critique your moveset. Please don't be offended. We take that shit seriously here - we don't want a moveset full of finishers and a finisher so ludicrously over-elaborate that it couldn't be done in real life. This goes double if you're applying as a female wrestler. We also check to make sure your finisher(s) and theme song aren't currently being used. It's first come first serve when it comes to those.

And if you're one of those handlers who hates doing movesets, just say so and Jeff will do it for you.

Ring Name: David Noble
Height: 6-2
Weight: 245lb

Hailing From: (This is where your character is introduced as being from) Buffalo, NY

Alignment: (Heel or Face? You may not play a Tweener without special staff permission): Face

Gimmick: (Describe your gimmick. If your wrestler isn't heavily gimmicked then describe his/her persona.) Currently, Noble is down on his luck. He’s had a bad number of years since his last appearance in PRIME. Things have definitely not gone his way. His gimmick is he wants to fight and that’s all he wants to do. Wrestling for him is both his escape and his hell.

Wrestling Style: (Tell us a little bit about what your wrestler does in the ring and the general psychology behind it.) Used to be a big-time high flyer. Now, he is much more of a ground-based wrestler due to his down on his luck self. More about the suplexes and ground game to wear someone down. Except when he just wants to throw punches and beat someone up (which normally leads to him getting pummeled).

Three Weaknesses:

1 - He is so out of it most of the time that he is a danger to himself. He is drunk most of the time, high other times, and just looking for any kind of way to escape from his life. Wrestling is the chance for him to escape, but he has to get there first.

2 - Heart on his sleeve kind of guy. Because of that, people have an easy time pushing his buttons and tearing him up. He can get hot-headed very easily and as a result, become tunnel visioned.

3 - Moving to the more ground game, he has lost his way with the aerial moves, which is where he is considered more dangerous. While he is a good ground person, that’s not his true calling and it shows at times. Living on the edge is where he succeeds. This in turn allows his opponents to get the best of him more times than not.

Three Strengths:

1 - He is a student of the sport. He knows his stuff inside and out. He loves the sport and is willing to give his all to it.

2- He is passionate, when he has the clarity. He knows what he wants and he has a tremendous amount of tenacity.

3 - David is very loyal. He will always have someone’s back, to a fault, and be there no matter what. You know, when he is drunk or high or just in a bad place.

MOVESET

Ten regular moveset moves:

1) German Suplex
2) Northern Lights Suplex
3) Clothesline
4) Crossbody
5) Facebuster
6) Enziguri
7) High Knee
8) Triangle Choke
9) Cross Armbar
10) Bulldog

2-5 trademark moves:

1) DDT
2) Ankle Lock
3) Full Nelson Slam
4) Piledriver
5) Triangle Choke

1 Finishing Move:

1 Equalizer (Inverted DDT)

Oh Craiggles. I don't know if you know what you're getting yourself into. ;)

But at least David Noble doesn't have a superkick that'll break a dude's neck. And I know you'll hold up your end of any matchwriting that needs to get done (very important here). So I'll say yes, so long as you do some character building on how Noble's been "down on his luck", etc. because Jason Natas is another former PRIME guy who is looking to turn the tables on some tough years also.

CRAIG! I echo Lindz's sentiments in regards to the character. He busted his ass off in PRIME in the matchwriting aspect.

EDIT: I'm a retard, saw that you linked to RP and segment.

Still, I will vote a yes.

Lindz: Did I get myself into a place where you can keep making fun of me? I'm sure you've missed the frequency of doing that ;-). And I hope I can differentiate myself from Natas. Noble hasn't hit rock bottom and he will not be clawing back into redemption right away. So there'll be some character building for sure :).

Plus, you know, no superkick that can break people's neck (did I write that? I don't think so).

Seth: Thanks!

SenorJames: Noble can lean more heel if need be. He's going to be kind of a dick anyways. I just know that tweener status was something not outright approved and Noble is not going to be an outright dick to the fans, etc. if he gets in.

If it becomes apparent that our stories are pretty similar and you want to go down a heel-ish route, we can always feud somewhere down the road. That should provide enough differentiation, though I'm tied-up for the next few arcs.

Anyway, I vote "yes," as Craig was always an absolute workhorse in PRIME and obviously has a lot of history and chemistry with a good chunk of our roster.

Lindz: Shhhhhh! :)

Justin: Point taken!

Murray: Definitely! I'm sure we'll work together somewhere down the road. And thanks for the kind words! :)

Alright then, figure that this one's pretty well locked up, eh?

Craig, PM me or Jeff or Lindz or James a username and password for the website, and get to work on micro and poser descriptions in the threads on the art directory.

Welcome to that thing we do.
