For those of you that don't know, my wife had our third daughter yesterday morning at close to 4am. For the second time in a row, she delivered a very premature baby. My second born - Joy - was born at 24 weeks, and was 1 pound, 5 ounces. My newest baby girl - Brooklyn - lasted a little longer, she would've been 30 weeks on Monday, and is currently 2 pounds, 8.5 ounces. My wife had a C section so she's still in the hospital, but I am left trying to care for my other two children, all the while, trying to find time, and a way to see Brooklyn, who was taken to a NICU in Macon, GA - a hour and a half from where we live. Normally, in these situations you lean on family, problem is, my immediate family and I relocated to GA ten months ago, and we don't know anyone, other than a my co-workers.

I should be around to write. If I can't, I will let all the parties my writing may affect know in advance. Please keep us in your prayers.

Kind regards,
Jay

Thank you guys.

New update, as it turns out, Brooklyn has a couple of heart defects that'll require surgery once she's 4lbs. Right now, she's at 2lbs, 15oz. So I'm looking at anywhere from two weeks to a month maybe, and we'll have to send her to Atlanta(2 hours away). The bad news is she's so small, and the more surgery she has, the harder it is for her to just focus on recovery. Which is absolutely what she should be doing. She already has enough on her little plate. :( The good news is, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is the third best children's facility on the East Coast, and number one in terms of successful recoveries. Also, some more good news is that she was actually born a premie, because when Shaka's doctor's did all of her tests they missed the heart defect, and by the time Brooklyn would've come home at the normal 38-40 week term, one of the valves we would need to remain open could've closed, and we wouldn't have known a thing, which would've been fatal.

Again, I really appreciate all the well wishes we've gotten on here, and through AIM, please, please, please, if you pray, send one our way.

Warm Regards,

Jamar

EDIT: And, Dave - I hear you. But, writing, like never before, has helped me out so much. It's allowed me to escape, so please feel free to include Trip in your plans as you see fit. Like I said, if I need to be away for an extended period of time, I'll let you all know, but by allowing me to use my imagination would actually be helping me out.

If it's therapeutic for you then by all means I'll keep you involved.

And, I will shoot one of those prayers your way.

You got a prayer from me and my fam bro.

Hang in there. Just keep your wife in good spirits man because I know personally a mother away from her child during these situations is rough.
