((mostly for those that haven't seen me roleplay))
A poster with various victorious moments in the moments of Cancer Jiles, celebratory postures with Team Danger throughout the years. Belts, trophies, coffee mugs and all sorts of memorabilia are plastered throughout the office. Angus Skaaland quietly reads over a few pieces of papers, referring back to his laptop throughout.
"Lots of experience listed here," Angus says to the man sitting across from him, "it says here you're familiar with Martial arts... My tie?"
"It's," the Interviewee begins.
"What's that? That gay crap where people are flutterin' around like ballerinas? You want to be a wrestler with skills like that?!? You shittin' me!?"
"Actually," he starts again.
"Aww hell, I don't know if you'll make it with that! Not gonna be the next Cancer Jiles actin' like that! That's for sure!"
Angus turns to the laptop and on the screen he watches a video of a few matches. The DEFIANCE hopeful if you could call it that. They were a rabid group looking for blood and glory for the slight hint of the chance to get on the main stage. The man sitting across from Angus is part of that group.
On Angus' screen he watches the Interviewee wrestle against a man slightly larger than him. The two circle in the ring and the Interviewee runs across at the sound of a bell and smacks the man with a knee to the face immediately after the bell rings. Angus, along with everyone that was present squirms at the sound of the impact.
"That's pretty violent," Angus says, "you sure you don't have anger management issues? Do you take some kind of a touchy feely class on dealing with your emotions - "
"No," the Interviewee answers.
"I'm not sure the boss will go for someone constantly targeting peoples heads like that! I mean look around my office, tell me what you see?!"
"Well -"
"Team Danger, Cancel Jiles! Could you *make* it in Defiance by HURTING peoples moneymakers? It's all about marketability. You can't just defile the company. You wanna know how much ticket sales *go* up when Cancer's face is on the promotional materials?"
"I-"
"300%! You're telling me you're going to ruin the profits we make at our company!?! You trying to ruin me?! Take away from me trying to earn an honest living by ruining someone's face and cutting Defiance profit margins in halve?!"
"No,"
Angus leans back in his chair, "Let me ask you something, what makes you think you can make it here in DEFIANCE?"
"Courage,"
"You know who's courageous? Eugene Dewey is if I ever saw one. He's just living proof that any retard can make it. You a retard? No, don't answer that. What I really want to know is what kind of animal is that supposed to be? And what's your name anyways?" Angus says squinting at the Interviewee.
"It's..."
"-Nevermind," Angus says,"doesn't matter. You ever think about going by DRAGON JESUS the MEGA TIGER DESTROYER?!?!... Has a ring to it doesn't it?"
"Uh..."
"Bah, nevermind."
Angus continues watching clips of the Interviewee.
"Anyways, let me review your paperwork and I'll get back to you. This is your contact information on here? I'll contact you and you let you know if we have any openings."
Angus and the Interviewee rise and exchange handshakes. Angus gives him a polite nod as he departs, sits down as the door closes and sighs.
"Man, I tell you with some people you can't get an edge in words with. Constantly interrupting me! Sheesh, let me give Eric a call and see what he thinks of a... Whatever you call it in DEFIANCE."
Wrestler(s) Information
Please take note of a couple things. It is highly likely that a few roster members will critique your moveset. Please don't be offended. We take that shit seriously here - we don't want a moveset full of finishers and a finisher so ludicrously over-elaborate that it couldn't be done in real life. This goes double if you're applying as a female wrestler. We also check to make sure your finisher(s) and theme song aren't currently being used. It's first come first serve when it comes to those.
And if you're one of those handlers who hates doing movesets, just say so and Jeff will do it for you.
Ring Name: Diego de León, or Diego
Height: 5'10
Weight: 205
Hailing From: Truth or Consequences, NM (real city btw)
Theme: Luis Bacalov - Lo Chiamavano King (instrumental)
Alignment: (Heel or Face? You may not play a Tweener without special staff permission)
Face, Character is a classic babyface. Only he wears a mask.
Gimmick: (Describe your gimmick. If your wrestler isn't heavily gimmicked then describe his/her persona.)
He's a face. One of the classic baby faces (ala Ricky Steamboat). He has a cool mask, cool outfit. He doesn't break rules or cheat. He'll never hit someone with a weapon, even *IF* he's in a no disqualification match. He won't use illegal moves or holds, he'll break them before they get to the count.
He doesn't talk much. He's like Dean Malenko in that sense. He rarely speaks and could come across as reserved or shy, usually giving one word answers. He never speaks ill of whoever stands in the ring opposite of him on camera. Never curses. He'll give a fair, clean fight to every opponent in the ring. Man or woman. He won't lecture someone or point out why they're wrong.
In short:
Honorable, mysterious, laconic baby face.
Pages from TV Tropes.org that would describe him is:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HonorBeforeReason
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FearlessFool
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheQuietOne
Aside note: Female non-Combatants are probably the safest bet against Character. He'll fight any woman who steps across the other side of the ring against him.
Wrestling Style: (Tell us a little bit about what your wrestler does in the ring and the general psychology behind it.)
Character has had a history of striking-centric martial arts. Karate, Tae Kwon Do with Thai Kickboxing. He's been doing kickboxing since before he was preteen. He also has solid technical skills. He doesn't like taking risks or putting himself in a position where he can't control the outcome the most. His martial arts and ground skills make it so that he has an explosive and quick offense. He's more of a Sriking/Technical guy without the flips.
What this translates to in wrestling terms is that he'll hit some powerful strikes (knees) at any and on unexpected moments. It wouldn't be unusual for him to knock people out with his well timed strikes. He could also have a potential for having some awesome sequences with fellow strikers or technicians if pushed right and written well.
Character's Personal code:
1. No illegal holds (using things for advantage/leverage, anything where the ref requires to count before break)
2. No illegal weapons
3. No illegal strikes (back of the head, opponent on the ground)
4. No illegal moves
5. Follow the referee's direction.
6. Do. Not. Back. Down. (As a champion this translates to take on all challengers)
7. Don't mock the opponent.
8. Win, lose or draw respect the opponent.
9. Respect the fans.
10. Respect the boss, even if you don't agree with them or their actions.
So Striker/Technician with a strong moral compass.
Three Weaknesses:
Mindset - Let's face it. The world today doesn't value fairness like Character does. Most of the other faces will use chairs and cheap shots whenever they're able. Character won't, and because of it it's very easy for a heel to cheat against him. Especially in a no-holds barred match against a guy who still *refuses* to break his personal code.
Conservative nature - He won't take risks or do many high flying moves unless he's sure he's going to hit them. He has a limited aerial arsonal and this could create chances for long and drawn out fights. If the person he's up against has more stamina he's definitely at a disadvantage. This could count as both a strength and a weakness.
Style - Despite it being unpredictable as to when it will happen. The what of it is something that people will know after watching him a few times in the ring. He aims for the KO, and will knock you out. But that could be subverted if the person is technically sound and if the person is physically larger then Character 6'8 +, 350 lbs + will give him a lot of trouble.
He's new to wrestling - He knows how to fight, but he's still new to wrestling.
Three Strengths:
Style - The strength of his style however is that it *is* unpredictable. You don't know whether you'll eat a knee to the face or when he'll land one. When he does though it will ring and it won't be when the opponent expects it. He may even fake a knee to just get better shots down the line. His style is both a strength and a weakness. Depending on who he faces this could be a strength or a hindrance.
Conservative Nature - Another double edged sword for him which could be used against him. It also means that he'll never take unneeded risks throughout a fight and will work to limit the amount of damage he takes.
Tenacity - He'll keep fighting no matter the odds. Arms broken? He'll use his legs. Legs broken too? He'll crawl over to you. Back broken as well? He'll be spitting at you.
MOVESET
Ten regular moveset moves:
1. Clench/knees to ribs and sides
2. Elbow strike
3. Spinning back kick
4. Thigh kicks
5. Textbook dropkick
6. Arm wringer
7. Russian legsweep
8. Wrist-clutch suplex
9. La magistral cradle
10. Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker
5 trademark moves:
1) Kip up - No, you stop laughing! This is a trademark because the Undertaker uses it as one. He'll kip up after taking some seriously nasty spots. Or near the conclusion of a heated match. It means Character is either about to build momentum or unleash a lot of hate.
2) Knee to the face from out of nowhere. This should be a running theme with Character. He will knee you in the face at some point in the match... Numerous times. When you start getting hit by a lot of them, he'll be putting you to sleep shortly.
3) Frogsplash - His one "risky" move.
1 Finishing Move:
Roaring Elbow
1 "MDK" (murderdeathkill) Finishing Move (Optional)
Lionstrike ~ aka ~ GO 2 SLEEEPUUUH (Kenta version)
