Re: ASCENSION ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #59 IS NOW LIVE!
Gonna skip over anything I've written for this show other than to say I hope the people I worked with this week liked it.
--The rundown was hilarious this week and glad that James channeled his inner Mean Girl with one of the signs.
--Donald Trump Supporter is a goddamn gold mine for cVc and personal apologies to Dan for not getting to this sooner than I did. Hopefully, my shitty Sharp dialogue didn't drag this down too much. The rest was gold.
--These Omega segments have been pretty killer. When Omega really gets going in-ring, I really think he could be like THE fucking monster of DEFIANCE. Granted, he's on my dance card right now, but I would fucking love to see Omega/FDJ as either a feud or even a one-off match.
--The build of Jake Donovan beating up some of the BRAZEN folk has a great old-school feel to it (or like current NXT format where they showcase a guy over a job guy/PC student). The post-match with Horry was well done also and now I want to see Donovan get the shit beat out of him (in the best way possible.) The pyro gimmick has been gold for Donovan and looking forward to the blow-off of this feud.
--Great job with the Comedy Hour segment. Lindz/Harmony have a great thing going here and should there be a tag team division, I think I'd like to see these two as a pairing. Keyes is cracking me up, too, but I definitely want to see him in a feud sooner than later. HUGE win for Harmony also over a former SoHer Champion (and even more impressive that he was one of the most dominant ones).
--Evan and Damien have produced some great stuff and the Box/Euge segment was no exception. You can really sense the desperation in Dewey's character, wanting to continue making history (which is a great motivator) and Box is primed and ready to take him down... and the moment when the knife goes into Dewey's back will be great (At least that's where I think this is going.) Likewise, Dan Ryan and Lindsay Troy's own issues have been slowly simmering nicely. Personally hoping for a full-blown feud between the two down the line.
--Booya/Walker was a fun match in a series of the CPI moves and Penn is such a glorious shithead. I like how a lot of these matches tonight have done a great job of advancing other stories, which leads to...
--A very smartly-booked gauntlet match. Horry/Donovan continued, we got a little bit of the Vikings on the main card, and The Euge fakeout was great at the end. I love how the latter turned out to be his ultimate undoing and Troy with a pinfall victory over Eugene Dewey should send him even more off-the-rails than he has been. The FIST Title match is fucking stacked and can't wait to see how that unfolds.
