Good old Sam Crust. Sam and I met in a fed where the president was just a
complete idiot. We actually became friends by performing a coup in
it. The president was going to be gone for a weekend and asked if a>couple of
us would handle the PPV for him. We said yeah, and after
talking with other members of the fed, learned what a douche bag this
guy really was. So Sam, myself, and a couple others "closed" the fed,
and created the SGW. John B., Sam, and myself are the founding fathers
of the SGW. After a few shows, Sam realized that his true talents lied
on the other end of the wall so to speak and quit as a staff member and
went on to Rp in the fed as Goldust. Sam was another one of those guys
that would help out in any way I needed. He'd be one of those guys that
I could vent too when people would get too unruly, or get advice on what
to do next. Sam was a great Rper and never questioned anything, win or
loose. He was another one of those guys that said that it was his
pleasure to be in the SGW, but he was wrong. It was our pleasure to
have him, and if it wasn't for him coming up with the name Solid Gold
Wrestling, we'd have been stuck with some crap like P.W.O. or something.
Congratulations Sam on your re-induction into the SGW Hall of Fame.

What can you say about Matt Emerson? Love him or hate him, you have no choice
but to respect him. For what he's done for wrestling feds, Solid Gold Wrestling
in particular. He was one of the men who helped build SGW from the ground up,
one of the first guys to put forth the dedication that undoubtedly helped SGW
become what it is today. Whether it be his superb personification of 'Hollywood'
Hulk Hogan, or single handedly putting 'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz on the map
as a character in e-feds, his roleplay style was innovative and fun to read.
Matt Emerson possesses a fire and determination that is hard to match in this
business. One of the few guys that you could honestly predict or think would win
each week, and most the time you would be correct. Notable feuds with other
Solid Gold Wrestling hall of famers include Tyler Courtney (Bret Hart), Ray Hall
(Sandman), and even our very own Josh Smith (The Dudley Boyz). No matter what
the match, or who the opponent, Emerson's
effort was always top notch. He'd bring what he had to the table each and every
week, and a lot of the time it was too much for anyone to match. Matt Emerson is
truly a 'legend' in this business, and has a long list of accomplishments to
prove it. Not to say Solid Gold Wrestling wouldn't be what it is today without
him, but there's no doubt that he was one of the few that kick started it into
what it is today.

- Jason King -

Matt Emerson.... better known to the role-playing world as Taz. Hell he should
just rename himself Taz, because that's who he's been to all of us that have
known him over the past few years. Emerson has been through a lot of garbage
both on the fed boards and in real life, but has overcome all of it.

I first met Matt Emerson in Solid Gold Wrestling back in 2001. Mike Frost and
Josh Smith were the owners at that point in time, and Matt was already a legend
in his own right under the SGW umbrella. I on the other hand was a 16 year old
pimple faced kid, who loved wrestling and couldn't role-play himself out of a
paper bag. Emerson may not remember this conversation, however, I first
Instant Messaged him asking for advice, and what he thought of my character
scenes. His response..... "Fuck off, I'm busy". But that's Emerson for you, he's
blunt, he's obnoxious, but he's real. He's one of the realest mother fuckers I've
met, which is probably why we clicked.

Emerson went on to pad his legacy in my up and coming fed, New Era Wrestling.
Solid Gold Wrestling had closed its doors and Mike Frost saw potential in me,
and I gave him my all with this fed. Emerson never won the world title there, but
our relationship began to grow in this fed and I began to get to know Matt
Emerson the person, instead of the role-player. From there I, along with fellow
friend Simon O'mant opened AWE. Emerson dominated AWE... no one could
touch him and his world Heavyweight championship reign was well over due. I
can honestly say that Matt always gave me his best.

But now, our time, our generation has slowly died out. I understand that Matt is
now engaged and about to embark on married life without the world of e-feds.
It's only fitting that Josh Smith and the SGW administration honor this top
notch role-player. He's always been one of the best, and if there ever was a
e-fed hall of fame, Emerson would be at the top of the list.

In conclusion, I must end this induction speech with these words... if there is
any person I have met while doing this Internet wrestling gig that I can truly
call my friend, it's Matt. Even to this day we chat about whatever the hell is
going on in the world. I have gotten out of wrestling, and rarely ever check the
Internet feds, but I still have kept up with Emerson. Emerson has been through a
lot of family troubles that I have helped him cope with and he has helped me get
through a lot of traumatic times in my life as well. Ladies and Gentlemen of
Solid Gold Wrestling, it's my honor to induct Matt Emerson a.k.a Taz into the
Hall of Fame. Finally he's back where he belongs, immortalized forever.

Jason King

"Former nEw co-owner, former AWE co-owner, & Friend"

- Matt Emerson / Acceptance Speech -

Well, it's truly an honor to be inducted with this great class of talent. I know
without these other six people, SGW wouldn't of been where it is today. It's
been a long ride as Taz. He's been sadistic, he's been high and he's been killed
and brought back to life. I couldn't think of a better way for him to go out then
here tonight at WrestleBrawl. Thanks to all the guys who I've roleplayed over
the years with. You know exactly who you are. I wouldn't of wanted to roleplay
with anybody else. Because all of those circumstances led up to this special
occasion. Thank you all again.

Ray Hall came from out of nowhere and won the Intercontinental title in his
first match.. I had no idea who he was or what feds he had been in but he
immediately grabbed my attention. I wasn't very good at the time but I was
passable and what I saw when I looked at Ray Hall's roleplays was a legitimate,
main event talent in our circle. He came in as The Sandman, forming an alliance
of sorts with another SGW hall of famer, Kurt, who was Billy Gunn at the time.
Ray and I didn't speak regularly until a while later when I first made my
transition to Jeff Jarrett and he had become The Undertaker.. One thing about
Ray before I go any further.. He is the first roleplayer I ever had the pleasure
of seeing use blatant, uncensored profanity.. He is the first roleplayer I ever
saw use, not only sexual innuendo in his roleplays, but also explicit sex acts to
go with it.. I immediately viewed him with respect and knew he would be the
world champion some day.

During my run as Jarrett and his run as the Undertaker, we began speaking
more often and eventually got programmed in an angle against each other with
the United States title on the line.. This is where Ray and I clicked for the first
time for real as him, myself, Brian P. and Craiger all attempted to make our
roleplays interlock somehow and the four of us wrote roleplays so violent and
unruly that Mike Frost, the owner at the time, threatened to fire us all if we
ever went that far again.. I can sit here today and tell you with no exaggeration
that Ray is responsible for my current style of carefree, sex and violence filled
roleplays and now, results.

Ray had several of the greatest matches I've ever seen with the five time world
champion, Joe Green with the world title on the line and he had another classic
world title match with Kurt during his run as Johnny the Bull.. Both as the Big
Show and Triple H, there were several times when he came so close to the
championship that it seemed wrong for a winner to be chosen and I'll refrain
from naming names or matches in particular to hopefully keep from stirring
controversy, but there were at least two occasions when I thought Ray was the
victim of bad decisions in those matches and unfortunately, one of those match
decisions came by my own hand..

I'll be the first to say that Ray Hall is the greatest roleplayer to never win the
SGW World Championship and unfortunately, he gave Solid Gold Wrestling a lot
more than it gave back to him.. His roleplay style was innovative, never done
before and never done as well since.. His name is both remembered fondly and
reviled.. His wars on the roleplay board are remembered just as well as personal
wars with Mike Frost and Matt Emerson.. But as controversial as he was, as
ahead of his time as he was, he always took the time to help out a fellow
roleplayer in need. He took the time to call me a friend and because of that, it's
my honor, my pleasure.. To induct him into the Solid Gold Wrestling Hall of
Fame.

Here's to you, Ray.

While I consider Solid Gold Wrestling my home, my first e-fed experience came
in the Pro Wrestling Alliance: Tri-Fed.. Back in the day when those kinds of
experiments actually worked.. I started in the PWA-WWF, which was owned by
SGW's own Chris Gambit, but another division of the fed kept calling my name..
The PWA-WCW owned and operated by Kfir Hezroni.. In WCW, the angles were
top notch, the results were on time and not to take away anything from the other
two divisions of the fed[the third, PWA-ECW was owned by Joe Green] but
Kfir's results just had something else that they didn't, he did things I'd not
seen done in the other feds, bizarre stipulations and even better, he showed
faith in me and gave me a shot when I was a whiny, little newbie because he
said I was loyal and I can say that's one thing I learned from Kfir that I still
apply to SGW to this day.. Of course, we didn't always see eye to eye and he
e-mailed me a virus once.. But that's beside the point.. When Frost told me he
was letting Kfir take over as the results writer in SGW, I was overjoyed
because I knew what he had accomplished in the PWA and knew that SGW
would only benefit from it.. And for those few weeks, SGW experienced it's
best sets of results for it's time that it had ever seen. Some would say he's
controversial and I'm sure, for some of the things he's done, some would argue
him having a spot in our Hall of Fame.. But looking back, Kfir did a lot more to
help SGW than he did to hurt it and that's what matters to me.

Josh has been like the brother I've never had all my life. He's gotten me into a
ton of random hobbies and interests that I would never have gotten into had it
not been for him. E-fedding is no different. In 2001, he linked me to Solid Gold
Wrestling, an e-fed he was an already established veteran in. He was the
Repo-Man in its grand re-opening and convinced me to join. I joined as Doink the
Clown and it was terrible. Josh taught me how to do HTML, how to start my
roleplay, and what to accomplish in it. With his help, I am the roleplayer I am
today.

I remember when Frost was first inducted into the HoF, the guys who inducted
him all said "SGW" made them think Frost. But to me, those three letters makes
me think of Josh. Fifteen total titles won, four characters of his inducted into
the Hall of Fame. Easily the greatest e-fed career of them all. Josh took over
the reigns of Solid Gold and turned the e-fed world upside down. If it wasn't
for Josh, we'd all be stuck roleplaying in last-rate e-feds, not getting the
results, storyline, and treatment we are getting right now. His contributions to
e-fedding will never be forgotten, because to do that, it'd be impossible.

Josh and I have had a lot of wars with a lot of people and feds. We've shut a
ton of shit down in our days and fought a lot of roleplayers. The favoritism issue
will always be an ugly shadow over the heads of us, compared to the current
steroid cloud over Barry Bonds' head, but the difference in that is.. Josh does
the right thing.

He's always been a guy I could pitch ideas to and be rewarded out of it. He's
always been ready to read my work and help me get better. He's the most
creative and witty person I've ever come in contact with inside or outside of the
E-Fed World. Without him, LoC wouldn't have lasted as long as it did. And
without him, SGW would just be a distant memory in the old SGW'ers mind.

And without him, I'd not be the roleplayer I am today, and I'd own a horrible
movie collection.

Josh Smith is the best e-fed owner I've ever put forth effort for. We butt
heads a lot on ideas, tastes, and the such.. But at the end of the day, I will
always have his back on anything.. Even if we weren't related. He doesn't do
what's best for his agenda, he does what's best for the fed. Sure I was
relentlessly jobbed in circa 2001-2002 on a weekly basis by him, not given
segments and storylines because I broke his length reign on the Tag titles..

But it ended up making me a better roleplayer out of it. In this first class that's
been inducted, there's not one person in this lineup who deserves the honor of
being inducted first than Josh Smith. Solid Gold Wrestling.. S.. G.. W.. Will
always be to me, Smith God of e-Wrestling. Because that's what it is. Whether
you love him or you hate him. Fought against him or with him.. When it comes
down to it, you got to respect him.

Without further adieu, here is the owner of Solid Gold Wrestling, and the best
roleplayer of all damn time.. Josh Smith.

When Joe came on the scene, I knew we had something special. He was a
fantastic RPer, and he was one of the guys that everybody liked to be
friends with. I can't say that Joe and I always saw eye to eye on
everything, but he was always part of the bloodline that was pulsating
throughout the SGW. It was a shame that Joe feel prey to the SGW "World
Title Curse" that I've nicknamed it, but rest assured, the SGW was
better with Joe Green in it, that it was with him not in it. He was
always a big help on cards, and he'd always put forth his best effort in
his Rp's and some of them were the best. One of my fondest memory of
Joe was when Josh Smith, Joe, and myself were in a fed together and
Rping as a stable. It was Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner, and Buff
Bagwell. It was probably the most fun that I have ever had Rping. It
was Stable Rping at it's finest. We'd all play off each other's Rp's,
and instead of 6 different Rp's that week, you would have 1 Rp broken
down in 6 parts. Congratulations Joe on your re-induction into the SGW
Hall of Fame.

- Josh Smith -

Joe Green is truly one of the greats.. A great fed owner, a great roleplayer, a
great person.. When I was a newbie, struggling my way through the PWA:
Tri-Fed, posting board roleplays with no substance and no html, he pulled me
aside and taught me how to use html and how to improve my roleplays and I give
him a lot of credit for my roleplay style today.. When Joe Green came in Solid
Gold Wrestling, I had already been there for a little while, but what he did was
just astonishing. He came in, bulldozed over the talent and won the world
championship, which he would go on to hold four more times and only lost it in a
match one, single time. Joe, to put it lightly, was unstoppable. He took some of
SGW's best and made them look like rookies. I've only had the honor of facing
Joe once and it was in an SGW World Title match, one of the most difficult
matches I've had the pleasure of competing in and it's one of the many fond
memories I have of Joe from the old days. He was a master at his craft,
whether it be running a fed, writing roleplays or his graphics, which were WAY
before their time.. If anyone deserves a spot in this hall of fame, it's Joe
Green. Fed owner, roleplayer and friend.

What can I say about Brian.... Although the SGW was never his main
priority, he still gave it his ass and always Rped. And even though it
wasn't his priority, he was one of the best ever. Brian was one of
those guys that really made running a fed fun. I mean his Rp's were so
off the wall with guys like Dan Spivey, Rick Martel, and The Legion of
Doom that every time I read them, I read them twice because they were
just that GOOD. Brian then I think had his most success as the
Undertaker where he was the first member of the "Perfect 10 Club". He'd
also help out in anything I asked. If I needed to run angles by him, I
always got his 100% honest opinion. When I needed help putting a PPV
together, he was there. He was a pleasure to have in the SGW. Whenever
anybody asks me who I feel the best Rper ever has been, it's kind of a
tricky question. If we are going strictly SGW and other branch feds,
then I have to say Josh Smith, but if you are asking me about the best
that I have ever seen anywhere, Brian P is #1 on that list.
Congratulations Brian on your re-induction into the SGW Hall of Fame.

What can be said about someone who has done it all in every aspect of
e-fedding?  Probably not much, but I am going to attempt to say what
hasn't already been said about Scott.  Haha, yeah right.  I came into SGW
during its final incarnation.  When I came in, I just kept to myself
and tried to figure out who was on top and who was doing other things.
Of course, Scott was on top.  I had heard about Scott while I was in
other feds.  Of course, not everything you hear is positive.  I remember
when he "died".  Then I remember when he came back.  Then there was
"Straight Shootin'" and all of his battling with Matt Emerson.  He truly is
the most controversial person I've ever met in e-fedding.  Scott is a
lightning rod for controversy.  A lot of it can be attributed to his
smart-aleck humor.  But when push came toshove, he never backed down from
anyone and defeated any and everyone that was put in front of him. Even as
controversial as he was, he was still  voted as the Best
RPer in the 6-month awards.  It just goes to show you how everyone
respects and admires his ability, and I would include myself on that list.
I truly believe that Scott would've still been the World Champion up
until Josh left, barring him not getting burned out.  He was just that
good.  Who can forget him bombing Leo Albanese?  Who can forget him
introducing Tom Cruise?  There was the Rated R roleplay with sex.  He
demoralized so many people it wasn't even funny.  His creativeness is
second-to-none.  The list goes on and on.  When I won WrestleBrawl II, I was
excited at the opportunity of finally getting to face the top man of the
last 7 months.  We talked about the fun it would be having an
Edge/Raven feud.  But things went awry and Josh took a much needed
break and Scott took over.  Much to Scott's credit, he did a wonderful job. Of
course, Fallout was known as the PPV where just about everyone got
fired--and rightfully so.  I felt I dropped the ball when I could've
became a leader, but instead, I let down a friend.  When SGW's history
is written after the One Night Stand PPV; I truly believe you will see
Smith's name there with Josh's as the people who were seemingly
invincible and took SGW to the level it's at today.  It is my honor, as
a friend and peer, to induct "Double S" (that's for Straight Shootin')
Smith into the SGW Hall of Fame.

Me and Brett's careers more or less coincide. I had one version of SGW under my belt
before Brett joined. Brett started out as the RTC and it wasn't really terrible, but he just
got sent against the big dogs right off the bat. He changed gimmicks and went with Val
Venis, and things haven't been the same since. He won the Television title on a couple
occasions, and then captured the Tag Team titles after joining the super-dominant stable,
Money Inc. After Kurt[Johnny the Bull] captured the World title, Brett was handed the
United States title. Some say Brett was favored by Frost, heralded as the next Chosen One
of SGW, but overlooking that, Brett fought on and had a very successful career as Venis.
Brett and I won our first World titles a week apart from one another. Our two best
characters were on top of each respected fed at the same time. I got to say, that alone was
a great moment that only can be compared to Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit
simultaneously holding the WWE and World titles at the same time after Wrestlemania 20.
Brett finally got his chance to run with the World title Frost wanted him to win in the final
version of SGW thanks to me and the Tom Cruise angle I came up with to run with Josh.
He wasn't the greatest World Champion, he wasn't the worst, but his reign was a very
forgettable one. But one cannot argue that it wasn't deserved after all the hours and years
Brett invested into SGW. And now, SGW is closed, Brett's no longer an active roleplayer,
his career as Venis didn't end in the way he wanted, as Val was turned into a joke.. But now
he's inducted into the SGW Hall of Fame, and that's something no one can take away from
him. Brett is picked at a lot by me, but he truly is a friend, and it's my honor to induct him
into the SGW Hall of Fame to top off an impressive career as Val Venis.

Dan Shepard was my first e-fed opponent here in SGW.He was Big Show and I was Doink.
He got the win over me that night, winning the TV title as I walked away with
the Gimmick title. We became friends then and I have considered Dan a friend ever since.
Dan has been fedding in this circle of ours for years, and he's always been a guy you
could rely on for quality and consistency, which is two things hard to come by nowadays.
Dan was the silent type. He never started problems on the OOC board, he just roleplayed
and minded his own business. He never complained about pushes, storylines, or losing,
and you could tell he genuinely enjoyed every minute he spent in e-fedding.
Dan was never the main eventer or the franchise of a promotion, but he easily
could've been with the right chance. He was an SGW mainstay ever since I joined SGW,
and the old school mainstays are hard to come across. So when we lost Dan a few months
before SGW closed, it was more than just a member quitting, it was like a member
of the tight-knight family was leaving us for something else. It was tough, but ultimately
for the best. Dan Shepard won't go down as the greatest roleplayer ever, but he'll
definitely go down as one of the most beloved and most consistent roleplayers not only
in SGW, but e-fedding as a whole. Congratulations, Dan, you deserve this spot in the
SGW Hall of Fame.

I've known Matt G. ever since I joined SGW in 2001. He was one of the first people I
became friends with, and I learned a lot from him. I used to talk to all the big guns in the
fed at the time, picking their brains fro advice and tips, and Matt G. was one of them.
He did everything in this company possible as Chavo Guerrero, Jr. He has always been a
close friend to me and Josh, always backing us up whenever we needed some assistance in
wars, fights, and opening feds. Matt G. was the most surprising SGW World Champion the
fed had. He won the title out of nowhere. He was the one guy you thought had everything
necessary to win it, but would never get the push. Josh gave him the chance and he took
advantage of it big time, winning the title on three occasions. He also won every title we
had to offer, most on numerous occasions. Matt G.'s Chavo was a great character and did a
lot with it, but his main notoriety came as Alex Shelley in this version of SGW. He snuck
in the fed as "Carlos," and went on a big undefeated streak. He captured the Pure title en
route to winning the World title at Fallout. I was lucky enough to be running SGW at the
time Matt G. won the title. It made me very proud to see my friend make it back to the top
of the mountain and hold the title longer than a week unlike his other two reigns. Matt G.
is the ultimate roster member. From the feud with John Baron, all the way to winning the
World title as Alex Shelley, Matt G.'s done it all in the e-fed world. Congratulations, Matt
G. on being reinducted into the SGW Hall of Fame.
