View Full Version : ULTIMATE GOLD RUSH Match Guidelines

07-23-06, 08:59 PM
EDIT: Please read the Match Guidelines (Updated) note stuck on this forum for the updates, including the guidelines for Round 2.

Be sure to read the press conference (http://www.fwrestling.com/fwc/showthread.php?p=47766#post47766) note in this forum to get the full story. It's also available on the CSWA home page (http://cswawrestling.com).

In-character setup:

Five rings: one in the center surrounded by four others, one at each corner. (Think of the rings in the shape of an 'X'.) The UNIFIED World Championship is suspended above the center ring.
This match is the Main Event for CSWA ANNIVERSARY 2006.
Wrestlers will be divided into the four rings on the periphery, while UNIFIED Champion Troy Windham waits in the center ring.
The other three CSWA champions will be placed in the outer rings, one in each ring, leaving one ring with no champion in it.
Battle royals will take place in each outer ring. The last man standing in each ring advances to the center ring against the UNIFIED Champion. The ring winner also wins the CSWA championship defended in that ring. In the ring with no champion, the ring winner wins the right to challenge for any CSWA title (including the UNIFIED) should he not win the UNIFIED Title upon advancing to the center ring battle royal.
As each ring’s battle royal finishes, the ring winner automatically advances to the center ring to face the UNIFIED Champion in a battle royal. Once the final ring is down to the final four participants, wrestlers may only be eliminated by pinfall or submission. The final man standing in center ring, once all others are eliminated, is the UNIFIED World Champion.Out-of-character setup:

All characters are invited. Once you post a roleplay, you are automatically entered into the match and will be included in the writeup at ANNIVERSARY.
Please fill out some basic character information at http://cswawrestling.com/goldrushjoin.shtml (http://cswawrestling.com/goldrushjoin.shtml). This will help us write the match and represent your character more accurately. If you have recently submitted a join form, reply here and let me know and I'll move it over. If you have a CSWA wrestler and already have a profile, you do not need to fill this out. A full list of participants will be available on the CSWA Profiles page (http://cswawrestling.com/profiles).
This is a legitimate shot at one of the CSWA titles. By joining the match, you agree that if your character wins a championship, you will remain in the CSWA for at least one additional PRIMETIME. If your character wins the UNIFIED World Title, you agree your character will remain in the CSWA for up to three PRIMETIME/SHOWTIME cards.
There will two “rounds” of roleplay. The first is a complete free-for-all. At the end of the first round, a VERSUS card will be posted that includes the “ring lottery” to determine which wrestlers will be in which outer ring. The CSWA champions’ ring assignments will not be announced until the beginning of the match. The second round of roleplay will begin following the ring lottery announcement.Roleplay and Judging

There will no roleplay ‘limit’, although we suggest a minimum of 3 roleplays in the first round and 2 in the second.
Our intent is for the first round to run approximately 2 weeks, depending on how quickly folks get started, and for the second round to run around 10 days. This would put posting the card around August 27. In the meantime, a number of VERSUS events will be posted to highlight roleplay, hold the card lottery, etc.
Roleplay, as always, will be judged by quality rather than simply quantity.
There is no limit to the ‘type’ of roleplay (e.g. promo, storyline, etc.) that can be posted.
It is suggested that your first roleplay serve as an introduction to your character, and that at least one first round roleplay be a promo against UNIFIED Champion Troy Windham or another competitor. This is true for current CSWA characters as well (specifically, the introduction part).
To start the second round of roleplay, you will know who the participants in your ring are (excluding which champion, if any). Feel free to use this knowledge to roleplay against other characters or to shape your storyline.
Angles within the match will be accepted once the second round of roleplay begins. As always, we reserve the right to modify angles, or not use them at all, based on how they fit into the story of the match. Angles may be counted as part of the overall ‘workrate’ (along with roleplay) to determine how far a character advances.Questions? Suggestions? Post them here. There's another thread in this forum to start roleplaying. All you have to do to get in the match is start roleplaying.

Chad, do you still have the Gent's details or do you want me to send you them again?

07-24-06, 04:51 AM
The "Join" form isn't working.

07-24-06, 10:24 AM
Well that can't be good. What's happening when you submit?

Edit: Just worked for me. (See "Test2" on the Profiles page.) Yran, may have been the timing. The server compiles stats and does some cleanup starting around 4am Eastern, so you may have hit it at a bad moment. Let me know if you keep having trouble.

Once you submit, you're immediately directed back here to FW Central. To verify that your submission went through, you can check the Profiles page at http://cswawrestling.com/profiles.

It says the page can not be displayed.

07-24-06, 11:11 AM
Yeah, that join page doesn't work.

07-24-06, 01:11 PM
My apologies, guys. I had the link in this thread incorrect (should've been shtml instead of html). I fixed it this morning.

I still have Stanley's old profile on the site and can direct you to it. However, I'll need you to create a new profile. Touch base with me via PM or e-mail and I'll give you additional info.

Will do Chad, PM'ed you

You might want to check for former GXW Cruiserweight champion Zell Hunter because I would like a shot at this mother. More to have a chance to wrestle for CSWA than the belt.

All hail the Muffin Man!!

I gotcha. Good to see you man -- been a long time.

Relatively new to FW.com. Been around the game a short while. Would love to try my hand at this *****.

Open to anyone right? Profile and debut roleplay coming soon i promise! Hold the train!

I'll update the Guidelines to give additional information about Round 2 in the next day or so. For now -- get to work!

All hail the Muffin Man!!

Finally, my minions' numbers increase!

Quick question, the centre ring thread has confused me. If I want to win the UNIFIED title (and who wouldn't?!?!) do I drop RPs in there, similarly if I want to concentrate on the PRESIDENTIAL title do I drop my RPs in that thread?

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooor are RPs dropped in the specific ring threads counted for both titles quests? I hope I haven't confused matters there?

*hang on, just found better way to phrase this!*

Will my RPs in the Presidential title ring thread also be counted towards my challeneg at Gregg/Troy?

*aaaah, much easier!*

08-04-06, 05:58 AM
I'd guess so. yes

08-04-06, 11:03 AM
Your main concern should be your specific ring. Do what you can do, and both your round one and two efforts will be taken into consideration.

The Center Ring is for Gregg to roleplay, and also if anyone would LIKE to rp against him in the center ring they may. We're not expecting you to tackle both rings. But Gregg needed a forum to continue to roleplay in. The Center ring thread will see who's brave enough to occassionally climb into the ring with Troy.

But primarily, you've been broken up so you can roleplay against specific people.
